Hi,

Tried to search for this topic, but did not find anything. Just some threads in the UK.
AAA is great, but they literally just raised our insurance to over $6k, did a quick quote on Porsche Insurance, and it shows $3,200. Which is wayyyyy less. Sounds too good to be true. So, I'm looking for feedback fro hopefulyl some policyholders, thanks!

I pay $2,850 for three cars through GEICO, but I'm in old fart territory, perfect record, and not using any of them for work commuting.

Definitely shop around for insurance - our 3 cars (Ferrari 458, Lexus GX460, Mazda3) are $2,160 per 6 months

I paid $1800 for 12 months with my 4S before I traded it. I was able to get that through Liberty Mutual. I'm just down the street from you in Livermore; spend a lot of time up your way as my friend owns Elite Motors - feel free to PM me if you need help. I have a contact with Liberty - he's part of them vs. a broker. Triple A rated which is nice; no state min drop if someone else is driving your car etc.

I can tell you, I shopped it around and they were about $1K cheaper than anything else I could find. The 4S sits in 'normal' range for value too...my Turbo ramps into exception based insurance.

$1,800 for 12 months, not bad at all.

So I called them, after creating a quote to see what the catch is, and it still sounds pretty good. Their whole concept is pay per mile. And also you choose the value of your car.

On the Porsche, they charge $.126 or $12.60 for every 100 miles driven.
On the BMW, the charge is $.100 or $10.00 for every 100 miles driven.

The six-month rate including estimated mileage is $1610.18 for both cars:

  • Coverage includes Liability - 50/100/50
  • Uninsured Motorist - 50/100
  • Medical Payments $10,000
  • Comprehensive Ded of $1000 Collision Ded of $1000

They also assured OEM parts on both vehicles. Porsche Auto Insurance include rental coverage of $125.00 per day, $3750 per accident and towing to a Porsche Certified Repair Shop in case of an accident.

  • Pay-Per-Mile Rates
  • Porsche Genuine Parts
  • Privacy-Protected Data Collection
  • Agreed Value Coverage
  • Concierge Claims Handling

Sounds better than any other of the other insurance people so far.

that isnt enough liability coverage - not much more than state minimums really. Typically, if you have a loan, those wouldn't be allowed.

that $1800.00 quote I referred to was 250/500/250

I looked at this as well but then opted not to go ahead. Did not like the small print about reporting mileage and what type of mileage tracking device might be installed (which I assume is installed but I never verified)

They said that every month they send a link so you can take photos of the odomoter. No device required. Just photos.

changed it to that, just increases $10/mo.
