Taycan Production to Stop for a 'Substantial' Period of Time

As a European I find that really uneducated, demeaning and ignorant to say. Both with regards to Mexico and to Europe. Mexico, Czech Republic and Ukraine are radically worlds apart.

Mexico produces outstanding engineers and is a leading manufacturer. A Czech was the one who shared the analogy with me.

I ordered a 4SCT in January. I asked my dealer for an update Monday, and he said, no allocations for MY 2022. He cited a Ukraine production stop. I thought he meant the one last month, but maybe he meant the one the OP is predicting.

In a global economy commodities are are made where Labour is cheap.
Doesn’t mean they are not skilled.

in this respect Mexico for USA and Ukraine for EU are valid comparisons.

This makes it more profitable for the shareholders while the board of directors can say, while counting their bonuses, ‘The customers demand lower prices!’

The best bit about Ukraine’s enormous manufacturing ability is that it is where most of the spares are made for Russian Armoured Fighting Vehicles!
One reason why Russians have abandoned mobile warfare and reverted to just shelling everything into submission with artillery in static warfare!

Calling it The Ukraine was when it was a region! Now it’s a country it’s just Ukraine. It was only very recently that I learnt we should pronounce Kiev Keev, not Keeyev, out of respect for how native Ukrainians, not Russians, pronounce it but the BBC still says Pariss not Paree and the French are not upset. Everyday is a school day!
I only recently learnt to call America The United States of America.
I was still calling it The Colonies!

I ordered a CT4S in July last year. I am told build will happen soon but haven’t been asked to fix the spec yet.
I, and it would seem an awful lot of others, find the CT4S to be the sweet spot in the range so it has by far the most orders, apparently.

I am optimistically handing back my VW id3 on June 4th to ONTO in anticipation of GTS arrival.
I would honestly rather cycle if I can’t have he Taycan.
Hope it’s a nice English summer

Don't think this story is true because the factory is close to the border with other euopean countries. I don't see them working at night and defending the country at the other side? But alot of people left the country, joined the army etc so ofcourse there is less capacity. Leoni also have alot of other factories across Europe and even the world so i guess there are possibilties for production there but it will take some time.

I am now against the war. Anything causing Taycan manufacturing delay is wrong

I was hiring a (Christ this is embarrassing) Peugeot e208 back in March.

On driving to Porsche Leicester, I sheepishly parked in the nearby supermarket car park before awkwardly glancing in all directions to make sure no one at the dealer had seen me.

Getting back on the original thread topic, yesterday I received a note from my SA. He sends me an update weekly from their Porsche system. The update in the Porsche system says “Acknowledge changed delivery date”. He says that this means my delivery date (which hasnt moved in quite some time) has changed.

It is not yet clear as to whether it means that my 7/29 delivery has moved in or out. Interestingly, my freeze date was yesterday as well. This could support the OP’s note that there is something happening with Porsche production. Will advise when I get more info.

It’s the interior of the id3 that is so disappointing. The seats have all the ergonomics of a beach deck chair or a plastic stool in a dentists waiting room. The seat fabric would not be out of place on cheap dog basket!

I am comparing to absolute BASE trim on a Taycan or Etron.

Trust me, drive an id3 for a bit and you won’t bother with 4K seat and upholstery upgrade. They are sublime in base trim next to the id3.
