Make sure if you get the Jaaaag it comes with the right specification.
The slipper warmer, pipe holder and gold plated disabled parking badge clip
will make it much easier to sell to the usual Jaguar owner demographic when
the Taycan arrives!
I am much pleased to read in another thread that you are going Race-Tex
so its a 'proper' GTS!
I dont understand a GTS with leather, veg cutters or Mission Es and carbon body kit
May as well spec a 4S this way and save 20k
Why de-GTS a GTS?
Also GTS needs to be a bright colour or all the unique black detailing is lost
in a Darth Vader cloaking device.
Haha well I am yet to hit 40 so I can start the movement to make Jaguar cool again!

I was honestly surprised at just how much I liked the F Type ? and if that means driving it sporting a smoking jacket and a pipe well... so be it. That gold plated disabled parking badge clip is a solid recommendation ?

Yes, I saw your comment about de-GTS'ing a GTS and had somewhat of an epiphany. Then driving the Jag that had a leather interior and it made me reconsider even more. Also a Shmee video where his SF90 had a leather interior - it just looked peculiar.

I've always liked the idea of red seat belts and Carmine Red GTS interior matches the exterior. Totally agree the dark accents need a bright colour. I am unchanged on Carmine Red from day one. I've seen a GTS ST in metallic black and it just did not work - a £125k hearse.

Was surprised at how much I liked cherry on Leicester's GTS saloon, however, we are then hurtling back into Jaguar demographic territory once again ?

I completely understand you points - The range is crap
I think its the least efficient car (except the heavier 55) on the entire market
We have had a better time than you though.
Didnt ever connect Apps and the only fault ever is the parking brake last week
which has not inconvenienced us in the slightest.
We love our 50 Technik as we normally never go far - 10,000 miles in 2 yrs
2 long trips took a bit of planning but it charges fast and all went ok.
Perfect 2nd car to the Taycan - definitely not a substitute for.
Its perfectly quick enough in every real world circumstance.
Launch Control, that is only available on the 55, is pointless on this style of car.
It still leaps off the line like a scalded cat if you boot it with the electric torque and 4WD.
It is an absolute bargain if the range doesnt stress you.

As far as I am aware the increased range update was for the Etron 55 only - not the 50
Its going in for the parking brake next week I will check.
It might just be the warmer weather that gave you the better range!?
Hey Ross - I had read that the update only affected 55’s, but I had the notification pop up on my app (one time when it was useful!!). There was definitely an improvement post update anyway.

It is a very smooth car to drive and does have some poke, it’s just too big a car with too small a range in my view.
I’m at 7k mileage at the moment - so it’s not an everyday annoyance - I just can’t plan 100-120 mile round trips with any confidence I won’t need to stop to charge up (at which point planned charging point won’t work - but that’s a different problem!!!!!)

I never worry at under 160 miles - especially in summer - Just gentle cruise - Efficiency mode no problem
If up to 200 miles I rag the nuts off it in Dynamic mode and find a fast charger.
Car can do both, just not as well as a Taycan

I just picked up my second Taycan (GTS) and couldn't be happier. We recently had a '22 Audi etron Sportback in the family for a couple of weeks. Great looking (Navarra blue), and super comfortable. Unfortunately, the Audi app was never working. No way to pre-cool/heat (important in SoCal), but more importantly unable to charge the car publicly. If you visit etron forums, you will discover this is "normal". Not acceptable. We sold the car back to Audi and got the BMW i4 M50 - never an issue with app connectivity so far!!!! Car is a beauty, and drives fantastically well! Goodbye Audi. PS - my 2020 R8 V10 was a disaster of issues as well. Porsche Taycan Turbo saved me! Just TRY calling Audi for support...wait time 3hrs... "why are you calling again - we will let you know if we find the problem". Also, the service advisor at the local dealer, let us know -" it's Audi, what do you expect."
I agree regarding the miserable Audi support. I’ve been anxious because Porsche is another VW brand. I’m glad to hear that your experience is dramatically better. I can’t say that my Porsche SA is notably better but I will reserve judgment. Either way, I’m very excited that my Taycan 4S just arrived to port and I will get my hands on it soon!

I like a bit of retro Cherry
I had an Alpine GTA V6 turbo in that colour in the 90s
I specced a Cherry Turbo then jumped on GTS launch day
Cherry on a Turbo looks good with no privacy and standard silver/chrome window trim matching the standard silver Mission E rims
All dark colours look better with the 4S and Turbo standard Chrome/silver window surrounds
and no privacy.
I was going with Black/Chalk leather interior
Would have been totally happy....... then the GTS said 'me me me' and 15k cheaper sold it to me.
Turbo was totally different from my Crayon GTS with black interior,
I was going to go more for a more colourful interior in the GTS but Frank advised to go black with black trim and extra black bits!!

The ONLY thing putting me off Carmine Red is the German translation I saw on a car sticker pre prep.
Carmine Red sounds classy, cool, vibrant, alive and sporty.
Karmin Rot sounds like the ooze from a badly chopped up fresh corpse!

I too was going to go with what we should call the "Frank" - an all black interior, black exterior, black trim and black wheels. We know deep down it's his favourite ?

But something said: this is my first car (really, I only ever rent them), it's a Porsche, it has invisible blue stuff running through its high-volt guts and it deserves a statement colour.

Carmine Red is about the only colour that fits, there are far too many silver Porsche's, and I'm not keen on any of the PTS colours either (including the extended delivery time) since the majority are dark.

I was not aware of the German translation for Carmine Red... And that is strangely prescient considering my car is likely to arrive Halloween 2023.

Calling a totally black interior (no stitching, trim, ambient or anything) the FULL FRANK has really made me chuckle!
It should be adopted by the entire forum!

You guys are commuting more than 180 miles/day? That‘s brutal.
