I hope I'm in the next batch if allocations have appeared! I also ordered in October '21. So far I've found it the worst buying experience I've had! On order there was just a print out of the sheet no branded folder or anything nice to acknowledge the order. Then there was 3 months of radio silence and after chasing by email with no reply for a week I called in and I was informed the sales rep I ordered from left. The replacement rep I was given just about said hello and radio silence again. After emailing him 3 times I got an email back saying he is out the country so try calling the dealership for an update. No idea why they can't use out of office replies like all other businesses.

I'll call and see what the story is on my place in the queue I guess.
Good luck!

I was handed a receipt and a little sheet of paper to confirm I had dropped the £5k.

It's currently at the back of a drawer to give you some idea of my thoughts about the whole thing.

...still don't have anything yet mine is meant to be CP8 on the 3rd of June (believe when I see/hear it) - but nothing from Porsche nor my dealer re-tracking the order...

Will find out and let you know.

Can anyone summarise the charger options for me and what they mean in day to day living. I'm currently single phase at home, building a new house that will have three phase but realistically will have the car at least a year before that happens. Most charging will be done at home but fast charging on the road would be nice (I have a VW transporter for longer trips if needed)

150kw 400V option will allow 150kw at Tesla superchargers - being trialed in UK now - and any high power 400V (not many if any other than Tesla)......... eventually 800V and higher will become the standard for ultra-rapid. Its cheap as chips so I am speccing it just in case I need access to Tesla.

Apparently, reading posts on it, 22kw has had issues where it was recommended by Porsche not to charge at more than 7kW. Mebbies that is all resolved now? not sure -others will know.

3 phase should allow 22kW charging which could be important for you - if these issues have gone away. Being retired It would not be important for me.

Folks, I placed a deposit and ordered in October'21 and was given a paper order sheet confirming my order at that time.

Today 30th May 22, I received an email saying "Thank you for ordering your new Porsche – The Taycan" - and the car now appears in My Porsche.

Does that mean my order has only just been submitted to Porsche by the OPC now? I have not been given an allocation/build-slot yet.

It seems a strange terminology for what I was hoping for soon - something along the lines of.... 'order update - your allocation/build slot is XX/XX"

I can't find an order reference number in the email or 'My Porsche' to cross-reference back to the ref number on the original order sheet. So I am not sure what this email means.

many thanks for any insight
Only just logged onto the board as I received the same email this morning and was checking here first due to it being evening now in the UK. Will follow up with the dealer in the morning. I placed my order in mid March for a Sport Turismo. Maybe it's pure coincidence (especially with two on here also receiving the same email) but I was getting miffed with the slow responses/updates from the dealership and wrote to them on Saturday saying I had been offered an Audi etron GT for August delivery (I really had) and needed a clearer idea of allocation. then bingo, the email drops this am.

Wow! In the current climate, to order in March and have a build slot offered (if that's what this is) by late May would be a record! Most are being told 12 months+ - Hope it works out for you (not jealous) ;)

The dealer always assured me that the ST's would be quicker to build. I won't count my chickens until I see the build slot confirmed ?

By the way, I'm still going to test drive the Audi on Wednesday as I'm intrigued to how it drives. Same performance as the 4S for the same price of the standard RWD (once you match the specs).

I think the tech could be more stable too... My A7 has the same broad 3 screen architecture and has (touching wood), so far been faultless! In some ways it has a more advanced cockpit than Taycan, and it's approaching 3 years old now.

Looking at Youtube comparisons - the Audi could be marginally softer riding, not necessarily a bad thing. Nice looking car. Good luck!

No email for me but having read that you can check in the myporsche app I have just discovered my 4S ST is at step 3 (scheduled for production) of 5.

No idea how long it takes to get to the next steps but exciting to see progress!

My email advised that have my order and it is now visible in myporsche - at stage 1. (Stage 2 is my PEC in August according to myporsche).

Surprised you weren't given the same courtesy of a heads up it was in there. Hope it goes well.

Thanks it’s been a long stage just to get here, original deposit placed April 2021 for the GTS (which at that stage was unannounced). After seeing the GTS I decider it was not for me so order went in for a 4S Saloon…then when the 4S ST was announced (Jan 2022) I jumped into that. So it’s been a fair bit of jumping around.

Still not received anything about the PEC (I did get an invite for the saloon) but once I contacted them I had already switched to the ST and they said they had none of those models in so would contact me once they did. Hopefully that’s soon.

The communication from my OPC has definitely not been the best…but no doubt when they want payment I’ll be constantly bombarded!
