I have an electrician due to my house next weekend (Saturday) to do the install. Thankfully, my house can support up to the 100 amp circuit and he'll be running the wire from the box to the garage and doing full install to breaker box, etc.
My plan was to just go for the Porsche Mobile Connect that comes with my car. It requires a 14-50 NEMA plug setup on a 50amp circuit. He's going to have the 100 amps ready to go should we want/need to add a 2nd 14-50 NEMA plug or move to hardwiring a 48v or up to the big 19.2 kw-22kw charger.
My issue - my Taycan doesn't have the 19.2kw onboard charger on it. I know this just got announced that it could be retro fitted, and I may do that but not right this second. My garage is closed and charging at night not an issue. Round trip to work is 20 miles there/back (40 miles total).
....I am now having second thoughts and just thinking I should have the electrician hardwire a Porsche Wall Connect on the full 80 amps. Get that setup up and I think my car should take advantage of the 11 kw/hr charge rate and if I upgraded, it's just an upgrade in the car and I'm at 19.6 kw.
Any advice here? ...for those that ordered the Porsche Wall Connect, how long did it take to ship and get to you (to the United States)? In check out, it has zero information about ship times and curious if it'd even get to me to be hardwired next week if I place the order today. Any experiences on order to receive times for those that ordered would be appreciated..... Car comes home this coming week (NLT Saturday - 7 days)
