Folks who drive 911's can get away with saying the Taycan is a little ugly relative to the 911, but that is about it. I've stated it before on this forum, but it is worth repeating: Whenever a Tesla is stopped near me, I see jealous stares and can literally feel the EV envy emanating from the Tesla drivers. Tesla mothers know their babies are ugly and the Taycan is a painful reminder of that harsh reality.

On the internet, yes - some Porsche people really hate it. In person, no, everyone I've spoken to thinks it's beautiful. So as usual, the internet is a bad place.

The Taycan, to me, is one of those cars that is greatly affected by color choice. IMO, a 911, regardless of color, is drop-dead gorgeous. The Taycan, on the other hand, can be beautiful or just goofy-looking, depending on color.

Never received a negative comment about its appearance. People are stunned by it, especially in the Gentian Blue with the Mission E wheels.

I got baited... I've heard people say "that car looks like the crying emoji", or "oh you're getting a mazda 3" (CT). Rough crowed. I could generalize and say those folks are generally late adopters with things or do not appreciate cars -- but to each their own.

Most of us here on the forums I'm sure are fans of the Porsche design aesthetic/language. Others wanted an EV that was unique/has a better build.

Good design will always be controversial. One things for certain, as its mentioned here several times, once you're in front of a Taycan or see its parked next another [EV] vehicle, it holds its own. -911 owner & fan

Not really but I totally get those who don't find the exterior styling of the Taycan to their taste, that's fine with me.

Comparing an EV to a 911 is like comparing a pick up truck to a cross over. They are dissimilar in intended use and not comparable.

The Taycan when compared to other EV's is (in all its variants) aesthetically a world apart from all but two. It is IMO the third most appealing exterior design on the road to date. What EV's can make a claim to be more appealing to the eye? There are only two.

• Mach E - ICE Mustang drivers disavow it is even called a Mustang
• Lucid - Not bad for a 1960's Buick
• BMW I4 - Can't take my eyes off the grills (that are not needed)
• Tesla - Enough said, they are just simply plain with a car for the people design
• E-tron - A close fourth
• Bolt - Might be the worst looking EV on the road
• EQS - Great car but unless you are over 75, you won't appreciate it.
• Mini Cooper - Was never a nice looking car
• Leaf - Not even mentionable
• Pinafarina Battista - The winner
• Polestar - Worse than the Volvo
• Rimac Nevera - Second place
• Kia EV6 - Better than most on the list
• Ionic - Maybe takes fifth place
• Kia Niro - Looks close to the Bolt
• Smart EQ Fortwo - Barely qualifies as a car

I will admit when growing up in the 90s I genuinely thought Porche were ugly looking cars, didn’t get the hype.

However this changed in the mid 2000s when the designs became more appealing and the Taycan is the most beautifull car in the range, though I’m a fan of the current 911 as well.
