I have a PMC set up on the wall regularly charging our 4S. If I rented another EV, something like Hyundai/Kia/Ford/VW, can I use the PMC to charge other EVs?
Thanks.

the answer is "maybe" - in theory it should work just fine - all EV chargers are supposed to work for any EV - in practice the Porsche EVSE that comes with the vehicle has some issues with other vehicle's - so it's. YMMV situation - it will either work or it won't

the disappointment comes from the fact that these things are not supposed to be vendor specific and they are supposed to be universal (like USB charging bricks for phones and such) - but for some reason the Porsche one is finicky and people have had varying degrees of success - which is why the PMC+/PMCC are a disappointment along with other reasons…

but high quality universal EV chargers can be had for $200 on up - and the Porsche EVSE isn't the best one in North America - there are better options - one of the reasons is increased compatibility

the Porsche one should work universally but in practice it's been falling short in this dimension and others…

again the good news is lots and lots of affordable alternatives that will Charge your Porsche's and other EV's just fine.

I second Dave's thoughts. A friend that owns a Tesla came to visit last year and we plugged the Porsche EVSE into his car only to find that it triggered a fault and refused to charge the Tesla. We even changed the charging rate from 40 down to 20 with the same results. Decided to take a quick drive to a public charger and Voila! it began charging his Tesla with no issues. Just chalked up the Porsche EVSE as being finicky..........................or worse.

In short, 'yes'.

The physical charger is in the car
(any EV) and not the EVSE.

EVSEs are intended to be EV agnostic.

As per above neither the PMC+ or PMCC are particular favourites in North America for various reasons.

My PMCC can't even charge my other Porsche lol. Well it charges but only at 3.2 kw max.

If you plan to have multiple EVs in the household, 100% recommend getting a third party "charger" which will work far more reliably and charge faster.

Reading all of the posts about the PMCC and PMC+ troubles in the US, I start to think there is a problem with implementation of the specification J1772 in the PMCC??

I have not had any problems at all connecting different cars to my PMCC. Teslas, Zoe, i3, VW id3. Etc.

But we have a different standard in the CCS2 Connector.
