I traded the Taycan CT yesterday.

I was reluctant to select the Factory Reset option for fear of going back as far as Transportation Mode. I deleted the HomeLink entries, My account, GPS HOME address, and GPS destinations.

I also deleted the credit card on file in the My Porsche account.

My iPhone app still knows about the car. What additional steps should I take to prevent someone from charging a DC charging session to my account?

Log out of the account in the pcm. If the plug and charge was not on, I don't think the guest can turn that on.

I think that the factory reset is what you really wanted. Also I think you can remove the car from the app. Not done this yet, so not sure how. If not obvious then go on the My Porsche website - I am sure you can unlink it from your account on there.

In addition to the previous suggestions, go to the USA MyPorsche Portal, login, and click

Then scroll all the way to the bottom and click the button to remove your vehicle:

(I don't know what happens after that, sorry ...)
Will you be getting another Taycan? I've enjoyed reading your comments.

Thank you for the tip. I removed the vehicle and received the following email from Porsche.

The Taycan 4 CT was my first Porsche and probably the best handling car I will ever own. Now I can cross Porsche ownership off my bucket list. I am planning to get a new EV every year or two since I probably don't have much time left. I took delivery of an EQS 450 4Matic SUV on Saturday. It does not handle as well as the Taycan, but it is a very comfortable and very quiet. It's also easier to get in and out of for my wife.

Last weekend we took a 900 mile trip in the Taycan and struggled with the DC chargers at all five of our stops. Hopefully the EQS will bring us as much pleasure as the Taycan did without the stress of wondering if our next trip would be the one where we get stranded away from home.

I will hang around the forum while I try to sell my Winter tires, WeatherTech mats, and cargo mat.

Good luck with the eqs SUV. I was also considering it but the charging rate gives me pause for road tripping. Let us know how it works out.

Factory reset is what you want to do, that will clear all personal information and settings. It will not reset the car to transportation mode, that requires PIWIS tool to do that.

I had that same reservation. On the recent trip I took in the Taycan the best we saw was 175 kW at DC chargers. The fact that Porsche suggests using the "battery friendly" option to limit the charging rate casts some doubt in my mind about how wise it is to charge at 270 kW. As a practical matter I don't think the 200 kW maximum in the EQS will be much of an issue. The slower 170 kW limit in the EQE would concern me more.

An interesting observation on AC charging rates... Two of EVSEs that I used reached a rate of 6.8 kW in the Taycan. With the EQS they peak out at 7.3 kW.

I hear you about the slower charging rate with the taycan. I did a round trip from NYC to Philly this past weekend and my usual reliable 350 charger was maxing out at 150, at 9% soc and a preconditioned 92* battery. I have been getting much lower rates at EA as of late. Just bizarre.

It's because of this trip that I also don't want to deal with a slower charger. Waiting around with kids, patience tends to wear thin. Do report back with your charging experience.

You can de-register your account and the default then becomes 'Guest'. I would also delete other accounts associated with the car first.

On older Porsches there used to be a reset for New Owner Handover function - doesn't seem to exist on the Taycan.

Suggest checking with your dealer what the complete process is and if selling through a franchised / main dealer then they would normally take car of this step.
