Looks like waiting lists are shortening, probably people bailing out.
Maybe financial uncertainty or would it be unknown increase in interest rates for people who buy in installments?

You are clearly in the majority though. Outside the more expensive and luxury brands pretty well every maker just supplies the sporty model of a car with a black interior which they wouldn't if it was unpopular, obviously.

I look at car alternatives from time to time, though almost everything new is a bloody SUV or crossover I am not interested in, and if it has no alternative to a black interior I don’t look any further.
It rules out almost all sporty cars at the lower price end.

My current car is close in colour to Volcano Grey. It is very smart but I prefer green or purple, when available, which they rarely are. My 500E is bornite - a metallic purple and I have had a techno violet BMW M3 but so few choices, most of the time

I am fed up of cars in non-colours, ie the monochrome variations between white and black with no tint at all, but most makers offer few other choices and I have ended up with monochrome dailies for decades.

My short list for the Taycan was Mamba Green, Frozen berry and Cherry and I went for the green in the end and though I would have preferred one nearer BRG I did like Mamba lots once I had seen it on a couple of cars.

I am even more bored by black interiors and privacy glass though I can accept and enjoy my dark grey exterior but a black interior or privacy glass rules out a car completely.

That is a strong interior/exterior combination you've got coming, bravo! I've seen photos of one car in that spec and it looked great. We almost went that way because it was in a pop up where we holidayed and looked utterly amazing but decided on Neptune Blue in the end.

Admittedly every colour looks amazing in the snow even though these are rubbish photos, sorry.

Just had it confirmed that my car has arrived at Grimsby, so after finishing build end of July and spending far too long in Germany it’s now in England!

Hopefully in a couple of weeks I’ll finally get to drive it and can consign this long frustrating wait to the past.

Well… the update on this end is that my GTS ST is due at the OPC on Friday (25th)… I’ll believe it when I see it to be honest! I’ve seen the production pics on the app and hope it made the boat as it should have last week! Time will tell eh!

My GTS arrived at Grimsby yesterday too! I ordered in Dec 2021. My dealer thinks I’d be able to collect in about 2-3 weeks time. Exciting! My build date was 7 November so it’s moved pretty swiftly.

Phew...I was desperate to suggest you had totally lost the plot and so its a 'no way Jose' on the colour front!

Colour is tricky - I've been through Volcano twice now - I love it but I don't think it goes well with the black trim and in particular the window surrounds.

I'm now on Jet Black (dull I know) and going for the 'Hearse' look.

Tense times indeed!

In regards to black, i said to myself I wouldn’t buy another black car and bought a jet black Macan Turbo, i see Macans in various colours but i always come back to black and i think mine (now sold) was one of the best examples I’ve seen, so much so i ordered the taycan in the exact same colour/interior!

I had a black Cayenne S then a Macan Turbo which basically put me off for life...or so I thought.

Lol, I actually looked up a KITT light option on YouTube to see if it was possible.

Doubt they'll be legal in the UK.

I'm going all black too. Had considered the Gentian Blue as the "exciting" option too but had my heart set on black and likely won't change it.

Do wonder about it being a bit plain inside with a black exterior but really don't like the neodyme option and I'm not convinced about the colour options on the stitching...other than maybe going yellow to match the calipers.

Looks more Batmobile than KITT then though.

After all the positivity around confirmed build slots, orders landing etc, I contacted my SA 12 days ago. Emailed last Monday, called on Wednesday & Friday, left a message with reception each time for a call back from SA or sales lead.............Nothing!!!

I have had some life recently. First, my dealer telling me they are moving into a new role at the same dealership (promotion), but I can still contact them at any time.

And second last week inviting me to a "Festive Porsche Experience", where I get to drive a Porsche (I have no idea what model) for an hour's drive around some midlands country roads. Includes a brunch at a luxury hotel.

Since I don't know when I would get an opportunity to drive a Porsche, I am flying back from Spain for it. Why not? ?‍

Will be strange driving LHD, then RHD, then LHD in 24 hours... And also quite obscene, but life is there to be enjoyed and if you can, you do.
