UK order status and delays?

I have had some life recently. First, my dealer telling me they are moving into a new role at the same dealership (promotion), but I can still contact them at any time.

And second last week inviting me to a "Festive Porsche Experience", where I get to drive a Porsche (I have no idea what model) for an hour's drive around some midlands country roads. Includes a brunch at a luxury hotel.

Since I don't know when I would get an opportunity to drive a Porsche, I am flying back from Spain for it. Why not? ?‍

Will be strange driving LHD, then RHD, then LHD in 24 hours... And also quite obscene, but life is there to be enjoyed and if you can, you do.

I'm sure you would rather just have the car that you've paid for..........................or an update at least!

My dealer has confirmed that it is not possible to submit an order with BOSE or Burmeister at the current time.

Not good.

I'll find out today what the scoop is. No Bose, no dice.

Totally! But then the pattern has been the same ever since we dropped our deposits: nothing.

They don't know anything, and the potential wait for an allocation is 12-14 months.

I'm thus expecting my car end of summer 2023, unless I permanently leave the UK next year, which is increasingly tempting based on how much of a sh*tshow the UK/Europe is becoming.

In that case, I would have to cancel as I'd be liquidating my company.

After all the positivity around confirmed build slots, orders landing etc, I contacted my SA 12 days ago. Emailed last Monday, called on Wednesday & Friday, left a message with reception each time for a call back from SA or sales lead.............Nothing!!!

VERY VERY POOR!!!!!!

There really is no excuse for this is there. I mean you are looking to spend 100k ish on a car and I think the least you deserve is a call back even if it is to say no update. I've personally decided not to chase them at all and have resigned myself to the fact that if they have anything to tell me then they'll be in touch.

I now have a decision to make after my initial 'excitement' of an allocation last week. Dealer has confirmed no Bose for Taycans (or Macan's) nor any indication of when that situation might resolve.

Do I eat humble pie to reduce depreciation and take my slot for Feb'23 delivery or dig in and tell them to poke it?

Go aftermarket, but ask for a discount.

As above, I had to make the same decision this morning. Reluctantly, I confirmed my allocation.

Car is expected mid-February and I will aim to take delivery on 1st March.

I really love my music (soulful house etc) and I'm never going to get too excited about listening to radio/Internet radio in a car.

Its just something on in the background.
If you have the music on loud I don't think you can actually concentrate properly on the driving. Which you should be doing in a Porsche.

Car is for driving.
Music is for listening.

Thats a tough call. I would'nt want panels removed etc on a new car for aftermarket speakers/amps etc. If they (Porsche) are offering a decent discount as in incentive that may change things. (but i doubt it)
