That is super strict there (and expensive). Fines are nothing like that are in the USA.

so, 107 km/h on a 80 road…
You would get a ticket for EUR 500 (250 if paid in 8 days) and three points to your record.
When one collects 16 points, driving licence is lost.
In Texas they may fine you for going too slow. :)

There are plenty of amazing places in Europe to drive at fun speeds and where the low traffic density means that it can be done safely.

With that said, many parts of Switzerland and for example central London are full of cameras that makes it very difficult to avoid fines of various kinds.

People who drive recklessly in congested areas should be fined heavily if not have their license revoked, but when it is clearly a money grab (eg driving only a few kms above the speed limit, getting caught by the ridiculous box junction cameras etc) it’s bordering to an illegal tax.

Even worse when city installs red light cameras and keeps on lowering the yellow light time to drive revenue:
https://slate.com/news-and-politics...standard-makes-8-million-off-new-tickets.html
https://ww2.motorists.org/blog/6-cities-that-were-caught-shortening-yellow-light-times-for-profit/
Something like this was happening near where I live too. I once watched the red light cameras start flashing even before the light turned red! The only way for me to guarantee no ticket and avoid getting hit from behind was to gradually slow down almost to a stop before the intersection (so I don't have to brake hard risking someone plowing into me in case the light turns yellow), and if the light was still green and intersection is clear, unleash the Tesla Ludicrous mode across it (I calculated I can guarantee to cross the intersection even from stopped in well under 3s at full throttle, 3s being the yellow light duration). Definitely not something I enjoyed doing, neither the most optimal way to drive, and once almost ended up with a pedestrian on my hood who misunderstood me slowing down as a sign that my light is red, then ignoring his red light and starting to cross. Unintended consequences of government greed incentivizing such driving. Side note, I read in a local paper at one point the local judges got so fed up with the red light tickets, that they dismissed tickets for anyone who showed up to court to challenge it. Most people probably didn't bother though (it doesn't go on your driver's license as it's the car that is ticketed, not the driver, like a parking ticket), so city got most of their revenue anyways.
