hey Dee,

I’m going to extent my warranty in 3 months (april ‘23). I’m also living in the Netherlands. Wonder why you get this discount. I’ve to pay full? Did they tell you why?
I'm a loyal customer and they want to show appreciation cuz the Taycan is still Porsche's first EV with many bugs in the past...
Still, my car has been pretty much trouble-free so it's a true win/win. ?

Hi guys,
I'm being offered a special extended warranty cuz I'm a "regular customer and Taycan driver" although my car is already 30 months old so my 24 months of factory warranty is already over by 6 months...

I'm being offered three choices:
1 year €911, normally €1850.
2 year €1678, normally €3324.
3 year €2116, normally €4191.

My choice would be 3 year as it's the most attractive in terms of security and price.

Just take it , don’t think , just take it . Porsche is a very reliable brand , however , things happens and thing do wear out , ie: car’s hose 12v window regulators , they will cost too much money if it’s going to be an out of pocket expense. And plus the deal they offered is very attractive.

But....
If Porsche is so confident about their quality why would I pay €2116 for that to prove it?
My car has been excellent the last 2 years after a few minor, known early bugs.
My dealer is also great, absolutely great.
It's an interesting occasion I think...

What are your thoughts about this special offer?

PS I've already asked what's in it and if it's transferable in case I want to sell the car (very unlikely but still...). ?

The other thing is, if something goes wrong with the Taycan, it is never a cheap fix.
And there is a lot of very new and very expensive tech to potentially go wrong.

Someone posted on here about needing a new instrument cluster recently. It also included the price, which was eye watering.

Edit:
Found it, It was @gusone

I got the black screen of death on the instrument cluster and the whole thing had to replaced. The car was only 4 months old. The service guy said the part cost £5,500 + vat. You do not want a Taycan out of warranty!

Thought about that too but most things will fail within a year.
So far my car has been very reliable for two and a half years so I'm pretty confident it'll stay that way for the next two/three years as well.
Insurance is all based on fear but if Porsche is giving an additional warranty it means they are pretty sure about their product so to speak...
But indeed, you never know.
That's why I took two years extra and not three.
You gotta take some risk in life, that's the whole reason I could afford a Taycan Turbo S in the first place... ?

Talked to my dealer today and it's like the factory warranty I already had.
Is there anything in the contract that says "Everything covered under the original Porsche comprehensive warranty is covered under this new policy on the same terms"? "like" means very little in court. I don't know how it works in your country, but in decades of owning many cars in Canada and the USA I have never, not once, come across an extended warranty that literally extended the manufacturers original bumper-to-bumper warranty on identical terms. There was always a catch, exclusions, deductibles, different coverages, etc. The devil is always in the details.

Can I purchase the discounted warranty extension through you as a referral?
my warranty is due in Jan 2023, and i spoke to my sales advisor today about the status of my new GTS, it again slipped to mid-April (was March) without a specific explanation from the factory but simply "order delay due to shortage", they can't offer me a discount warranty as it's done by the factory, this has put me a difficult position, if i pay the full fair for one-year, effectively i will be benefited for 4-5 months with potential delay, however, if i don't, i am screwed if shit hits the fan (like the HV heater other malfunction caused by software/quality issue of parts, what do i do?

I don't think so, it's personal.
It was also a november discount only, dealer only.
Btw, it's called Porsche Approved garantie.
Nothing I can arrange, sorry.
On the other hand, not all Porsches have problems, you'll be ok.

Looks good. Comparatively in the UK my OPC has offered the following:

1 year £1100
2 years £2010
3 years £3000

You also have the option for Porsche Assistance

1 year £175
2 years £285
3 years £385

Checking out carefully prices from different countries I have no idea what a hell going on at Porsche Centrum Budapest with prices like this:
1Y warranty extension: EUR2,5k
2Y warranty extension: EUR4,4k
3Y warranty extension: EUR6,3k
Ok we have 27% VAT and prices incl. 111-point check and mobility warranty but still ca. 1,5x higher than anywhere else.
I hope it is allowed in the EU to make a contract out of country in Germany or Austria since locally price seems huge.
