just received a call from porsche regarding my current order, ive been told they cannot proceed with a build slot until i choose a different wheel, since the surface coated brake option is no longer available, nor is the bose or burmeister. absolutley fuming.

Wow - bad news. This is the first time I’ve heard of shortages in relation to the coated brakes though. Looks like there’s more supply problems in the mix. Crappy situation to be in all the same.

I’m currently waiting to see what my build has actually produced.

Sorry to hear that. Looks like 2023 is going to be as challenging for supply chain as 2021/22 was. Perhaps worsening before its recovers.

RWD with 21 in mission e wheels which automatically have the surface coated break option attached to it.
But this is no longer available as I've been told by porsche.

Not ideal but I think we all felt options were being reserved for variants where the 'option' e.g. Bose, PSCB, Electric Adjust Steering Column, etc. was part of the standard spec.

Bose seems to be a random one but currently part of recent locked builds (end of last month) for GTS (not standard) for example.

Like everything this can change without notice too.

Applicable across the Porsche range and so not Taycan specific.

this is all true, but from gettting a potential build slot for february 2023 to now nothing at all until i choose a different wheel and downgrade to the basic sound system. whats the point if your paying nearly £100k and your forced to either change the options to something you dont like, just to get a build allocation. it wont be the dream car you were hoping for.

I have a CT4S just finished production. There was a question mark over Bose and, I believe, the electric steering column as well. Someone on here from Belgium posted their 4S was recently produced and fitted with Bose and the column so, who knows?

I’m waiting for confirmation from my SA and/or My Porsche to see what the car definitely has. Not ideal but, this has become something of the norm alas.

You can always defer the decision.

As you'll have seen there are disclaimers on the configurator highlighting supply issues and delays. Previously, short supply items were still selectable which was pretty poor but now most if not all should be 'hidden' where the option is no longer available.

Have you read the thread on the standard audio or better still gone and had a listen - it may be that it is perfectly acceptable?

Mission E + the forced selection of PSCB is a really expensive option and particularly on a base model (appreciate personal choice here) but there other arguably nicer wheels (Turbo / Spyder) which shouldn't be overlooked.
