There's a setting in the PCM that sets the rear wiper to go off when you reverse. What I couldn't figure out was whether this also includes a squirt of liquid. If it does, I may set it. The camera is passable once it's clean: I agree. If only they would let you default to the non-fisheye view and also add lines to that 'normal' view. It would make it so much more usable.
Not rain-x but I've used some good quality waterproof sealant to it and in this weather with the roads covered in grit/salt; it makes no difference
Hmmm, my camera does default to the non-fisheye view (still a little bit fisheyed) which has the lines. I can press a button to get the fisheye view and the lines disappear but this is a muuuuuuch wider view. I assumed this behavior was the same across all Taycans. Is that not the case?
Seriously, what were they thinking when they designed it? Can't they see that the camera is unusable in fisheye mode when they reversed the car? Everything 10 feet away looked like 10 inches away. Or, the Germans are so good at driving that they actually don't look at the camera view?
You just need to wash the rear window (right stick forward from memory). The saloon has a button on the bottom screen (this really is from memory of my test drive)
