My Homelink pop-up works but is hidden behind the camera reverse view. So after selecting drive I have to wait about 5 seconds until the camera view goes off and exposes the Homelink pop-up. 5 seconds wait shouldn’t irritate but it does. If there isn’t a way to bring the Homelink pop-up to the front I’ll probably use up either the steering wheel or 'cluster' diamond shortcut.
Ah yes, the joy if touch screen interfaces combined with software programmers who write the code never actually having used it in a real car. Even in Tesla, which has a more modern interface there are a few things like this which drive me nuts sometimes (like different buttons popping up in the very same spot on the screen, so sometimes if you go to press one button, it changes to another button and you press it instead).

Regardless the Tesla implementation is still miles better than how Porsche did it. Furthermore on the Porsche you actually have to hold it for a second to activate and a lot of times it doesn’t activate with a lighter touch.

Yea, I've played with the simulator and on a real Taycan during test drives, do will have to agree with you that Tesla is easier to use. One compensating factor for the Taycan UI is that it supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which Tesla does not. There are of course other things you cannot get with a Tesla, which is why I'm switching to a Taycan after a decade of driving Teslas exclusively, but as far as UI design, Tesla wins hands down - a good example how horribly Porsche solves some problems is the charging profiles/timers vs. Tesla interface for charging.

Still, I wish the current generation of engineers would not discount things like user experience design, actually invite representative customer sample to use their product, watch them via two way glass, and actually DESIGN it! Even Tesla doesn't do it, obviously, just look at their UI usability, or lack thereof since the Model S introduction - the UI get "cooler" looking but less usable every major software release (also slower, but that's because they write for latest hardware). Tesla's saving grace is Elon driving their cars to work and rips people a new one if something is not easy to use for him, which also explains why features not useful in California or Texas (e.g. defrosting rear or front glass, or heated seats) keep getting hidden deeper and deeper under layers of menus, and occasionally stop working while nobody at Tesla notices until customers complain.
