Anyone remove their red rear bumper reflectors? They're taped in from behind just looking for any procedure tips before pulling things apart.
I have a painted set to install. Thanks BumperPlugs!

Got a set installed recently. They look incredible.

That is beautiful! I've got an appointment in a couple weeks to have mine wrapped (black car) which should help matters. But it is good to know that if the wrap doesn't cut it, there is a better option for a perfect match.

Did it on my M4 Vert and planning same on CT4S - was actually hoping the a 3rd party might offer a clear reflector but prob wishful thinking :) I had my M4 reflectors replaced with painted ones by IND who do a lot of high end aftermarket upgrades for Bimmers - painted does look best.

With the clear option I was hoping for a look something like this - match the white lettering and mimic the clear side markers:

That would be cool. I plan to install matte black film over those.

Looks good! I honestly never notice them on my black car (maybe the red blends or I never walk up to it that way. The amber sidemakers were changed to clear before I even took delivery as that I noticed immediately.

I did like @kort setup as it looks oem and if he drives through VA no one would know it his hiding his countermeasures.

Looks great, how did you removed the red ones? I have a set ready to install but they’re not as easy as they make it to be.

My dealer did it when my drive unit was getting replaced. I assume the rear undertray can be removed for access. They are attached with double-sided tape.

Oh ok thank you, I assume you’re the only one that’s done it because they have no idea how hard is to get to it. The only picture I’ve seen anywhere and on their site is yours.

I did it and yes it is hard but you can squeeze your hand in there behind to help push/wiggle them out - I used a plastic trim tool to help but you will see your body work bend a lot in the process so be careful! Forget right now if I also detached some of the wheel well or other plastic covering which I think I did to be able to squeeze my hand in - the are held in with tape (I can see if I still have pics somewhere but I did post here in another thread).

I actually got my original painted replacements from TAG motorsports - they had them shipped from Germany and painted in-house and delivered to me were still a lot cheaper than dealer direct or other 3rd party offerings.

All that said I actually ended up going much further as when I had my custom paint done I removed them altogether and had the holes plastic welded for a factory smooth finished look in that area - end product looks a million times better imo but I am biased :)

Here's an old pic from March 2022 of my self-installed painted reflectors (best I could find! - ignore the ugly reflection :)):

And here are a couple of the current (plastic welded) removed result - not the best pics again but clear enough I guess:

Even worse as dust/dirt covered but basically the OEM reflector holes are totally gone:

Not the best pic re reflection etc of current (plastic welded) result - I'll dig around later if interested to show a comparison:

Yes I know exactly what you mean , i took off the liner and was able to get my hand somewhat squeezed in there but I can barely get my hand just a bit on the bottom part. It’s blocked by a bumper bracket.

No doubt about it, I struggled with it too and would be easier if more parts/panels removed but I didn't want to go to that length - just have to niggle away at it and def don't get frustrated and force it out damaging the body panel - slow and easy wins the race here :) but yes, a right PITA!

I added a few more pics to last post if interested - best of luck!
