Our 2020 4s just recently had the spoiler deform in an odd way. The outer edges are now raised and are obviously proud of/above the rear fender line. The center of the spoiler panel under the rear window is now below the edge in the center.

So it's bowed down in the center and up on both the left and right sides.

The car hasn't been exposed to any extreme conditions (heat, etc) nor been in an accident recently. We've owned it for 6 months and this just recently happened in the last 2 weeks. I went back and checked pictures from a couple of months ago and it was completely flush in all 3 areas.

Has anyone else had this happen and had it fixed by the dealer? It seems like a rather odd deformity to happen. I can't see any obvious ways that it's related to a failure or mis-alignment of the action of raising/lowering of the spoiler. I just thought I'd ask before I drag it into the dealer. It's often handy to say to the service rep: "I've seen reports of something similar happening and it was a mis-alignment of the actuators in their case."

Thanks!

Have you tried to select the extending/retracting cleaning function and cycle it?

Misalignment of the rear spoiler is a known problem, and Porsche has a solution for this. I had the same thing, and was told there were a number of Taycans also waiting for the same repair in Norway. Mine was fixed, I don't really know what they did but it hasn't happened again since and it looks good now. Simply contact your local Porsche center and claim a warranty repair.

Yes! First thing I did. Forgot to put that in the original post. Thanks for the idea.

Per the reply above I’ll schedule it in for service. Thanks all.

This is 100% normal and only occurs when the weather is cold and will reform again when the weather is milder and warmer.

I've lived with this for over 2 years and the dealership advised there was no solution during the first 12 months of ownership - I lived with it ((new GTS ST pickup next week) but suspect there may well be a warranty fix available now.

If you look at any MY20 / MY21 you will see the same issue from late autumn through early spring when ambient is low.

Crap I know but there it is.

There is a separate forum thread on this if you look.

W1NGE, Thanks! that's exactly it. Weather around here as been near/below freezing recently, so makes sense it is a materials expansion mismatch in the spoiler. Annoying... Thanks for adding data to the saga!

My spoiler was raised as well, already when I got the car, they replaced the baseplate underneath last week, with a new version that does not deform. It's 100% flush now.

My car is in for repairs at the moment under warranty and I mentioned the raised spoiler, they have replaced the mechanism underneath. Mine was sticking up about 5mm and the outer bushes no longer sat flush underneath.
