A small observation, this unlocking problem seems to occur only when it's cold outside (at least so far). This also aligns with me encountering it the first time on my way home from the dealer, after I left the warm south states and hit my first snow storm. I've only noticed it recently when temperatures drop at night.

I have also had it in the summer with 35 Celsius outside. My car was delivered end of April and has had it since.

Mine will occasionally do the opposite; it will open the handles as I approach, then suddenly snap them shut right before I open them. Annoying and weird but not frequent enough for me to deal with.

I have that too. Happened 10-15 times the past 9 months. Annoying but not finger crushing apparently. Didn’t dare to leave my fingers. Need them for my job.

Interesting. This is new for my 2023 GTS; the 2021 base didn't do this.

My Porsche Dealer confirmed it is a know defect but no solution yet. I am first going to let them solve all heater issues and coming back with this. I presume they are busy.

It happed to me once, I just assumed I touched the handle too close to the “close” notch. Have been making sure I grab the back of the handle to open.

My car went in for the second time for this issue. First time it had a software update that didn’t resolve the case. I told them what the problem was and the solution. It went in for the second time and now they found the problem are the door handles and they will replace all four of them. Kind of stupid because that is what I told them before the first contact after reading similar posts on this valuable forum. I even sent them the Porsche file with fault number and solution but they said it was US only and not for European cars.

I have this problem from time to time and it's annoying. Glad it's a known glitch.

In the bulletin they mention that the fix is to replace the door handle. Does anyone know if that means also replacing the painted part of the door handle?
Yes. Mine will be done soon and they said they will need to paint the door handles first.

Got my car back. They tested the 4 door handles and 2 of them were giving a double signal in stead of single. He showed me the graphics of the measurement unfortunately I wasn't allowed to take a picture. Anyway the will be replaced. They also changed a rubber block in the handle it self because it started to make a weird squeaky noise (other problem not related to the comfort acces). The loaner I got did the same. But that is solved. When the handles are painted they will change the blocks in all other handles too.

Update. Door handels finally painted. Picked up the car today. They also fixed the headlight that was a bit loose.

Went to the parking lot, picked up my car. Tested the head light, still same movement. Locked the door to go in again and report the lamp is not fixed. Same problem with the door handle as before.

Spoke to the technician. Said the head lamp unit had no bolts but just slides in and clicks in position. They couldn’t figure out what I was feeling. Read something different on this forum before. Just looked at youtube and surprise surprise 2 bolts to fix the unit to the chassis.

His answer to the comfort closure problem still happening: yeah well some Taycans do that. Strange an

third time my car goes in for this stupid problem and two times they confirm they solved it and only testing it once on the parking lot shows it isn’t.

Great service Carrera Morors Latem !

Ok to be fair. Thanks for fixing my heater within a week last winter. That was really great. Thanks Porsche for buying low quality heaters from Webasto.

My driver's door handle doesn't open about a 3rd of the time. I usually go for read door handle, that works about 2/3rds of the time if front is not working, so approximately 1 in 9 times I have to use the fob. However, given both handles have about the same failure rate, I think it's just shitty design of the handles and/or the software they run for comfort access, so I didn't bother taking it in for that. The way I figure, there is a greater chance of the dealer screwing up something else, than fixing this handle problem. Some day, if I'm bored, I would like to sniff the communications to the door handle, unfortunately I am rarely bored - too many more interesting projects.

That is a good advise. What bothers me more than the defect not being fixed is they way they handle. I can live without comfort acces. But being lied to I can’t stand. They tell we twice it is fixed and it isn’t.

Third thing is a continuous whining noise in the background. They convinced me it is normal up to a point I though it was me. The loaner Taycan I had now didn’t have this noise or maybe just a little. My college and a frien ld both have a GTS and those don’t have any noise. My car is also much noisier on the highway compared to the 3 others I tested.

I thought the resonating noise might be from the headlamp unit because it is not well fixed but they didn’t fix that either.

I hear you. Incompetent service is what I cannot stand either. Perhaps see if you can find a new service dealer? In my years of owning different cars, one of the thing which kept me loyal to brand to some degree was that I would eventually find competent service, including getting to know the individual staff/techs/engineers. I don’t have that with Porsche yet, as it’s my first in 20 years. Got into some conversations with techs from two dealers in my area, but just only beginning this journey for Porsche.

I had 5 BMW’s in 12 years. Dealership is a 5 minute drive. They knew me, I was treated like a good customer, always polite. Things happened to the BMW too but they were solved. First Porsche and I don’t get the same service I was used too. Let’s see how they solve things the next days.
