You guys are going way off topic. Can we politely request that these side conversations be taken to another thread and discussion limited to personal updates on a potential recall and delays?

I'm notoriously off-topic, but I wish all the tech stuff was in its own thread because I know my husband would be so interested, but I don't want to point him here and have him see my embarrassing ETA obsession ?.You guys are going way off topic. Hah I love how you don't even put the Odyssey on your profile, not that there's all that much room. But I'd love that data too. I could spiral completely and make myself some spreadsheet after piecing together the bits of data shared here, but yeah, talk about first world problemsDoes anybody know if there is any correlation with the port holds for heater parts and the popup indicating delivery delays due to heater component shortages? I know some people are getting that popup on their TYD, and others are not.
In other words has anybody that got the popup had delivery that was not delayed, and has anybody that does not have that popup have a port delay? I have a car on a boat at the moment and have never seen this popup on my TYD and am looking for a reason to have hope.
I have decided to trade in my current daily driver early in expectation of a delivery of my new car in 2 weeks. I was getting a better price for it than I expected when I enquired and did not want that offer to expire. Look like I will be driving the beater Honda Odyssey until my new car gets here, pray for my first world problems! LOL!
Thanks for a data point, and to be honest we love our Odyssey, most versatile and useful car ever. We use it as a pickup, beach transport, and airport vehicle etc. . and will keep it forever.Hah I love how you don't even put the Odyssey on your profile, not that there's all that much room. Mark me down for has pop up, pretty much since it was loaded on the boat, and no indication from dealer of hold-up. So I'd say unconfirmed.

I am not sure the HV heater ever heats the battery directly. None of the diagrams I've seen show high temp fluid going into the battery, for example, this is the zommed out version of what I had posted before (from same manual I presume since it's both labeled 2021 Taycan - presumably RWD since no front motor is shown). There does appear to be some type of a component linking the red and blue circuits (coming from port A of the manifold and going to Changeover Valve 4).When the battery is cold the mixing valve 1 will obviously direct most of the hot fluid into the battery temperature control circuit. A 600+ kg battery has a somewhat higher thermal capacity than the passenger compartment.
When the battery and motor get hot, and need cooling, the HV heater will probably be completely off and the warm fluid circulating for the cabin heater will all have come from other direction.
That was Elon's personal vehicle he donated to Space X, it did not belong to Tesla. Not disputing your point, but Elon did launch a Tesla into space on a SpaceX rocket. And the first Boring Co. test tunnel was built adjacent to the SpaceX campus.

Ha, ha. Given your posts here, I sincerely doubt your only criteria was Porsche (since it was a Porsche dealer), electric, and pink. I suspect you went in with specific options in mind, perhaps even a build code, again, just based on your prior posts I've read so far (you don't strike me as clueless). Nice dramatic effect throughI'm such a clueless first-time customer who just walked in the door alone one day saying "I want that electrical thing in pink."
There are around 12 mixing valves iirc, so which bit of fliuid goes where and when will be decided by the controller depending on temperature ranges set in ts programme and the actual temperature of the various circuits at any given time.I am not sure the HV heater ever heats the battery directly.
Maybe from the heater, but perhaps not directly? Notice that the battery loop is always references as "low temperature" in all Porsche. Or, maybe the battery cells can heat themselves via the resistive balancing circuits we know are there for each pair of cells. Come to think of it, it might actually be a very clever way to heat up a battery, very even heating for all cells, 100% efficient too as no external loses. It would also explain why Porsche insists on referring to the HV heater as "cabin heater". I am totally speculating here by the way, need to go back and look at the research I did last year, maybe there is something in it about how the battery is heated. There are around 12 mixing valves iirc, so which bit of fliuid goes where and when will be decided by the controller depending on temperature ranges set in ts programme and the actual temperature of the various circuits at any given time.
If the heat to warm the battery from cold when you select preconditioning in the morning doesn't come from the HV heater where else do you think it could come from?
In a system such as this with 3 circuits and multiple mixing valves nothing is likely to be "directly".Maybe from the heater, but perhaps not directly?
Top left of the above diagrams. AFAIK, "heat pump option" doesn't actually a new physical heat pump, but rather it adds 3 valves and 2 bypass circuits (labeled #3 on the second diagram). The other item potentially putting heat into the system is the heat pump where fitted, but I haven't seen where that is in the circuit, so no idea.
Without knowing what the 2 sides of the heat pump are connected to I have no idea whether it could add heat to a completely cold morning startup or not.Top left of the above diagrams.
