Replacement Passenger Side Airbags Unavaliable

So ours went bad the other day
dealer says none available in the USA
none available in Germany
cant drive the car because "its a safety issue"
no idea when a replacement airbag will be available

This is crazy

what do we do now???

My first suggestion as well
but it's the wife's car.
"what if I forget and have one of the kids in the passenger seat"

And in a sense I get where she is coming from.
So she wont drive it and there is no ETA for the replacement airbag

I suppose this is to become the new normal with these cars?

Just put some police tape over the seat and buckle the seat belt so nobody sits there. Not driving it at all seems a bit extreme.

LOL she wont be happy with that but I agree.

Does anyone know any particular reason why replacement airbags for this car are not available? Cant imagine we are the first Taycan outside the factory to need one.

Ask your dealer to temporarily remove that seat until the airbag can be fitted.

Now you've got leg room like a limo!

Well, its been close to a month now and here is the latest update from our service advisor:

“I was working with the parts director who has been in communication with Porsche Germany. They have not yet released the part from Germany yet and have not given us any further information as to when it will arrive. “

One has to wonder if Porsche cannot be bothered to honor their basic warranty, especially here when it relates to a basic safety feature. If this is what we can expect, this will very much weigh on our future decisions to buy any more Porsche products.
