How do you know that it's the case in this particular issue?
If the 12V battery is low/faulty and sends a fault code msg (by the 12V control unit) to the BMS the HV relais shuts off and you'll get the red warning while there's nothing wrong with the HV battery.
Cause, effect.
You can't possibly draw any conclusion on this as there are also (known) bugs in the BMS that'll trigger a fault code which also shuts down the relais.
So it's always a good idea to check if you're on the latest update (which prevents fake fault codes to shut down the car for no reason at all).
And have the right software programmed into the 12V control unit of course (which is part of the 12V battery itself).

I disconnected first then turned on the car.

The good news is, I gave the car 30 minutes, came back, and everything was normal. I took the car around the block, restarted it twice and everything was business as usual. Perhaps this was a freak thing but now my guard is up. I'm taking her up to DC tomorrow so if she pitches a fit there'll be a multitude of dealers nearby at least.

The red electrical error is popping up more recently. I am just trying to get owners to understand the dealer is just a repair facility and no ability to control parts and FTM (technicians that need to fly in for the repair). They need to contact Corporate and get them involved to help monitor the case and try and help speed up the process and hopefully Porsche Corporate will understand they have an issue that needs a little more attention than just wait till we can get your dealer the parts.

I have no way of knowing what is the problem and not diagnosing their issue. I am just giving the fact of what happened in my case and others I have spoken to so they realize they might have an extended delay and they need to be proactive.

My uneducated analysis and just notes of what I have found, in conversing with other owners with the same error and the resulting problem, is that (1) the yellow electrical error has a much better option of being cleared by letting the car go to sleep with the key away (2) there have been occasions where the red error will clear under the same process (but some have had it come back and then the car is unable to recover (3) if the red error does not clear, every person I spoked with either had the dealer diagnose the bad HV charger, bad HV cell (my case), or the HV battery needing replacement and predicted repair times were months. None were related to the 12v. Though, the 12v will typically be drained trying to get the car started.

It is all beyond my pay grade, but I do think there is some issue affecting a small portion of the Taycan's which can cause an extended wait for repair due to the lack of parts, efficiency on Porsche to get them to the dealers, or just lack of concern on Porsche to get these repairs taken care of quickly.

No way to know, but in my case, I was on the latest software from the uPdate and whatever ota they pushed out (not sure there were any).

Anyone have experience with a dealer needing to take your car home for the weekend:

“to perform an extended road test to verify the repair….the service manager or shop foreman will typically drive it home and back for an extended road test.”

they sought my approval first I guess it makes sense. Car went into Privacy mode so I can’t monitor its whereabouts, again, makes sense I suppose.

They drove mine 60 miles during the day for testing. Car was always visible online and I had a hidden AirTag in the car incase they went to privacy mode.

I had decided that if I saw that it was being driven around after work hours (as it was over a weekend), I would go get my car wherever it was and drive it back to the dealership. Let the tech or manager sweat it out that they misplaced the car.

I would not have given permission. They Can test drive it during work hours. No need to take my car home.
Another member told me they put 500 miles on his car testing and he only had 2k on the car. I made my dealer aware of that and it would not acceptable.

in my desire to get the car back I approved it, at times I think l: this is a Porsche dealer, they should be acting with utmost integrity! Who knows. I let them know I logged mileage pre-road test and expect a minimal amount of additional miles. We’ll see

This resulted in several of them placing Taycan orders. I've lent my Taycan out for entire weekends for people to convince their wives that they need a Taycan. When I take my Taycan in for service, I want the technician to drive it hard, to uncover any issues.

Either some of you are too suspicious, or I'm very lucky. I've lent my Taycan out many times for people to test drive including launch controls. This resulted in several of them placing Taycan orders. I've lent my Taycan out for entire weekends for people to convince their wives that they need a Taycan. When I take my Taycan in for service, I want the technician to drive it hard, to uncover any issues.

Go watch some YouTube videos of valet failures. No technician needs to have date night in my Taycan and show off to his friends. I can test drive it if they need to log miles.

That being said, this is a battery issue. Not a drive train. My dealer never did any charge/ drain charge. Lucky for me, they left it on a charger at the dealer all weekend. I charged it up remotely to 98% and then drained it using the air conditioner to chill the cabin. Beyond me why they did not cycle the charge and discharge.
