I watched a youtube video on the DBS and the MPG was one of the guy's hates. which totally supports your comment. I put this to the dealer and he insists they generally get around the 19 area. He sent me a pic of a 2800 mile trip reading which had averaged 31mph (so not just motorway) and it showed 19.4! Does your business partner drive it hard? (I would be really grateful for any feedback here, it is quite important given my situation.. I can't deal with a car getting 11 MPG!)

I have to say that generally my dealer (Porsche Sheffield) has been really good. The salesman I've been dealing has always been honest as far as I can tell and is trying to convince me to take the car despite both of us knowing it will sell easily and probably at a premium. I've dealt with them several times over recent years and they've always been pretty good.

Update on my Taycan. It appears to be on a ship sat outside Grimsby dock at the moment.
he loves the DBS mate but hasn't done loads of miles due to lock down, he's driven to the south of France this week and didn't take it aa it had a flat battery! And also knew he would be filling up every 90mins

he bought it new but got a big discount as it was a showroom model they wanted rid of it and as he's bought loads from them he was offered it
He actually got rid of a 488 spider for it!

I was meant have it for a week While he was on holiday In early March but when I got to his house it was snowing
So I left it behind and took his 2018 Continental instead as I knew I would live !! (Best car i have ever driven)

He genuinely gets 10-15 mpg on average (6L Continental I normally get 25mpg) I was chatting to my next door neighbour who has a 3yr old DB9 GT that he's had from new and he gets 11-16mpg daily and 19-21 on a motorway

my business partner had one of the first DB11s and I found that awful to drive compared to the Vanquish S
He only kept it about 6 months as he hated it too and he lost an absolute fortune
He says the DBS is a far Far better car and certainly looks better

Thanks for the fast response Dan. Honestly the DBS is probably the best looking car I've ever seen. The interior isn't quite as good but with the right spec it still suits the car. Very exciting car to drive albeit partly because it has so much torque and only 2WD. I'm sure it is a handful in the wet! I am so tempted but the lack of MPG bugs me. I had a V10 M6 years ago that did 10-11 and I had to get rid, constantly filling it up with other people's petrol! I don't quite understand how the dealer's demo is getting 19.4 though! It's not like demos are driven super carefully and tend to go on short journeys a lot. For a few seconds I thought it might be with the newness of your business partner's engine but Phil Dixon (video) seems to have done over 8000 miles and says exactly the same thing.

I agree regards the interior it Let's the car down compared to the Bentley

I'm sure you could get high teens MPG if drove carefully and in its most eco setting but that really doesn't suit the car

Send Phil a message on YouTube or Instagram as he always seems a pretty good guy

have you ever watched the "grand tour" episode where they drove the DBS, Continental and 850? Thats

Hmmm.. Somehow your post looks a bit unfinished mate :)

Anyway.. The Bentleys have incredible interiors and the exteriors aren't bad either (especially this gen). The Aston interior doesn't really compare but whilst the DBS and the Continental are GTs it's a very loose term. The DBS is really more like a 911 Turbo S than a Bentley (IMO).

I might try sending him a message, good idea.

Grand Tour.. yes but I completely forgot about it. Will watch it again now!

I did manage to communicate with Phil. He said he drives in Sport + and suggested that it could probably get 19 average if driven more, ummm, normally.

Yes 19MPG is on the edge of acceptable from my point of view. The fact that the Taycan now seems to be in Grimsby is making this decision considerably more difficult. 50/50 atm.

I think it depends on what other cars you have, as the DBS isn’t a car that’s easy to live with as a daily all year round

The DB11 was awful with cold tyres on a morning with a bit of Dew the DBS will only be worse
but the sound of the car is something else

for my opinion get the Taycan while it’s exciting and new then swap for a DBS in 18 months time when they are dirt cheap

my business partner has a DBS and he loves it, he's only done about 700 miles from new in the 8 months he's owned it due to Covid (has loads of other cars too)
But it does 11MPG and 100 miles on a full tank!

I've said in a few threads that whole car buying experience has started to spoil the enjoyment, I've cancelled an Etron that was built in Feb and has been stuck at Emden ever since!

All dealers are useless (especially JLR!!!) but it's the fact that they don't give a shit I find frustrating
Once you explain your annoyance you are greeted with
"You can cancel we have loads waiting for this car "
Wow, you guys! I buy Taycan because it is an EV first. I have waited for over 4 years, because such a car with this battery size, range and luxury finish does not exist anywhere! If you are happy with a stinker, then maybe do cancel and let all the desperate EV buyers have it first?
