Well had a bit of a shock, Cambridge and Zenith have informed that my delivery has been brought forward from there previous delay into next year, BUT it was only by definition that they were locking in my order spec and were looking at Oct/early Nov 23…….not holding my breath and can’t help but wonder if this is a stalling move as a reaction to many cancellations ……or could it be a ‘result’ of said cancellations that is moving everyone up the order queue ?

had to double check the tracker and see you ordered in July 2021! Great news if the dates have come forward for you.

When I spoke to Cambridge last month, they had suggested that the turismo variants had a shorter lead-time than the 4S and RWD Saloons.. they were allocating November 21 orders still for those.

I'm sure they are seeing a number of cancellations, especially with the salary sacrifice orders.. I can imagine a number of people have been waiting a fair while and have either got fed up or put off with a large commitment given the current climate.

not quite sure what you mean by

reads to me as if you've got an allocation, a 'confirmed' build slot and delivery date... I'd be over the moon!

ooh looks like I may of made a mistake as initial order was 2022 not 2021…will go check and correct.

As to your query- my meaning was questioning if this could be a smoke a mirrors action to keep people with orders - so a bit of sarcastic comment if the locking into spec was/is as previous that meant they are moving into manufacturing slot or just a way of keeping me hooked with an order etc

Can just complete the form again and just add your username and the field that’s changed

Congrats Hanny, have they confirmed the price increase with you yet? Just curious as to how much it’s gone up as a percentage, assuming it has of course… did you change the spec much from your original order. Looks like the cars are slowly coming through so it does look light light at the end of the tunnel. Interestingly, I received an automated email from Porsche today, saying my order has been processed and to create a Porsche ID. I was excited for a while, but just links my car/spec to my ID and says it’s at stage 1. I assume this is no bad thing, but does not mean a build slot is imminent either..

I have a build slot for October apparently. Just waiting to hear further details. I’ll update tracker when dates have been confirmed.

Well, as a huge change to what I was expecting I’m taking delivery this week.

I’ve been given a super deal on a car that turned up at the dealer last Thursday. But the customer cancelled 2 days prior.

Not sure it’s accurate to update the tracker though as it would bias the data

Thank you, looking forward to it. More options than I added on my order but the deal was hard to turn down.
Did you still manage to get it through the salary sacrifice scheme? And was the leasing company happy to redo the order for an already available car?

My lease company (Arnold Clark/ Activa) could never manage this…
When I ordered my car through Activa, I spoke to them stating that I could get an allocation faster through a dealership and keep looking at any last minute available cars (as in your case)…. but the lease company would not even contemplate this conversation.

Yes, all through Leaseplan. They cancelled the existing order and then they had to reopen an MY23 car as they only had MY24 ones live on their system so I could put through a new order that completely matched the car in stock. The only extra thing was that they had to adjust all the costs to allow for the £13k discount. It has taken a few days to get it sorted but we finalised it this afternoon.

hi sorry for late reply, no ‘actual’ price has surfaced from Zenith although Cambridge did elude that ioniser was no longer available. How ever I did have an issue with Zenith whilst trying to place the initial order which ‘may’ have an influence to a price change.

Thus my particular case may be different from the ‘norm’ in relation to initial quote and what I will pay further down the line, ALL taken with a lump of salt and will quietly wait to see the outcome.

I still stand with my non substantiated theory that the order-delivery wait times are changing for the better albeit not a direct result of Porsche system but more to do with customer cancellations.

Just for info, when I originally ordered my model X via Zenith, I was at first placed in the 12 month waiting process that was the ‘norm’ at that time, I subsequently found a non used/non registered demo already in the UK. Zenith, with a few additional actions swapped my order in order to get the UK demo resulting with a reduced deliver from 12 months to 2 weeks.

So I think there is the ability to adjust a long lead order with another that is at a dealer BUT there will be some criteria that will need to be checked/required to be available to reduce resale risk for the lease company at the end of the Salary Sacrifice scheme. Points to note that our initial order/scheme is only half of their business plan, the other of course is the end of term resale - so I imagine a majority of Salary Sacrifice companies will not stray too far from their ‘norm’ process and/or reluctant to add/change their purchase process…I.e ‘risk adverse.
