wow- there are 12 superchargers in the process of being deployed at Thunderhill - now I simply _MUST_ have an adapter - that means there is fast charging for track days w/EV for Laguna Seca, Thunderhill, and Buttonwillow!!

should be open in a matter of weeks!!!

I'll check tomorrow (there with my Daughter for a new driver clinic) - but I think not - it will required a separate adapter and authorization from Tesla for non-Tesla's to use it.

I'll check tomorrow (there with my Daughter for a new driver clinic) - but I think not - it will required a separate adapter and authorization from Tesla for non-Tesla's to use it.
Now I'm confused...my understanding is that we couldn't use the TeslaTap with Tesla superchargers. Superchargers can only be used if they have MagicDock. Adapters can only be used with Tesla destination chargers. Am I mistaken?

no magic dock - we will have to wait for porsche and a ccs adapter

The TeslaTap is only for AC. We’re all waiting for someone to come out with a DC adapter (besides magic dock) for fast charging on Tesla’s network.

The TeslaTap is only for AC. We’re all waiting for someone to come out with a DC adapter (besides magic dock) for fast charging on Tesla’s network.
The wait is for VAG to reach an agreement with Tesla for access to the ~12k V3 250kw Superchargers.
Or for Tesla to remove the marque-specific agreements and just open up access to all CCS1 EVs.

Although doesn't take much imagination, since it's just the reverse of the NACS-P<>CCS1-R that you can buy on Amazon for ~$100.

Speaking of which, I love how the real-world test simply comprises charging a Tesla at a Supercharger via the combo of the prototype NACS-R<>CCS1-P adapter with the existing NACS-P<>CCS1-R:



... which of course accomplishes nothing practical, other than demonstrating that the prototype adapters works just fine.
