What is the truth on huge service costs and 'drain holes'?

Been shopping round for `1st service cost and some dealers want 4 figures as they have to clear 'drain holes'. Checking Pano roof drains aren't blocked is one thing (except mine is a solid roof) but what the heck is going on here? Is it job creation or do they really have to take a few hours to disassemble the car and check all sorts of drain holes inc for battery or it voids battery warranty???

Whole situation sounds very weird and full of smoke and mirrors - confusing - and this is after having asked dealers. They all tell you something different or just don't know as the questions asked are beyond their knowledge .

Had my first service on 4S and there was no mention of drain holes, they carried out an update on the brakes and it’s sooo much better. I think it’s the actuator. Total cost was @£500

At my first service quote they wanted to charge me for checking and cleaning the drains for the sun roof! When I told the service manager I had not found a way to open the sun roof, he offered to come out and show me!

After going out to the car together he very quickly produced a new quote. I guess he was very satisfied with the drains in the SunRoof!!!

I read in some official document that Porsche will deny any warranty claim resulting from water intrusion, if the drains are not serviced. I don't know what drains pertain to high cost items, but it deserves some education before that part of the service is skipped. For example, there are drains on each of the charging ports. If those drains are not blown out and water makes its way to the charging apparatus, a problem could develop.

After being quoted for an oil service I was quoted £620 for the correct service that included inspecting/clearing drain holes.

He he, I did this with my Mercedes dealer with my first EV. He wanted to charge me for an oil change. I asked him if I could observe that process which was when the penny dropped that there was no oil to be changed ?
