I have seen many Taycans that are 2020 or 2021 with 2 to 3 owners! Horrendous!
I’ve seen many Ferraris with low miles and a dozen of previous owners. Just something us exotic car owners are used to.

Are you new to Porsche?

A lot of Porsche owners own multiple cars and swap them out every year or two.
Yes I am new and I think that is crazy!! Red flags for me so I bought one with one owner and not 3. However, Porsche told me - rich kids come in and swap cars every 6 months to a year -

I was kinda joking, kinda not. But I’m with you in the lower income bracket… I will need to own my Taycan for more than just a few months before swapping it out, but really, plan on running it to the ground.

The Taycan is a great car, but it’s a daily driver not an exotic. It should not be racking up owners faster than miles. It’s only weekenders and track cars you see doing that.

If I see a low mile CPO with more than 2 owners (sometimes 1st is the dealer), I would not even bother calling them about it, especially as we do know this is a car that can have big issues more frequently than legacy models (to be expected with the new tech). So avoiding a lemon is important.

Yeah, that’s nonsense. High priced cars tend to be owned by folks with multiple cars. They tend to accumulate fewer miles and get swapped out more often, even daily drivers like Taycans, Panameras, Range Rovers, etc. I’ve always owned 2-4 cars at a time and even my DDs got relatively low mileage and rarely stayed in my possession longer than two years. I just hit two years and 12k miles on my Taycan and almost sold it last week. And it’s a great car. My needs and wants are constantly evolving and cars come and go due to that. Doesn’t matter if it’s my weekend GT4 or my daily M5. Pretty common among high end car owners.

I'm with @Archimedes on this; I passed - long ago - on a 964 with low miles because it had 2 owners. (Still kicking myself.) The first Porsche I bought (after ~10 BMWs) also had the 'unpleasant' aspect of having had 2 previous owners - and then you realize this is uncommonly low. These cars aren't made of glass, they retain their value, and most of them stay on the roads/are being driven for decades. The number of previous owners on desirable cars (so as not to call them 'exotic') simply means that - that they're desirable. It's your loss if you pass on one on that simple statistic alone.

2 years and 12k miles is not really that low at all, and with 1 owner that looks great. Most Ferraris you see CPO 2 years old are on half that mileage. I would not worry so much about the legacy models like a 911 as I said - this is just an extra precaution on the Taycan as we know there are a few cars with big issues out there, that is part of getting into brand new tech.

I am talking about the CPOs you see with less than an average of 5k miles per owner and multiple owners. That doesn’t add up, as I say this is a car people generally drive daily. There may be exceptions and people doing only 2k miles a year in it, but what are the odds that with a 3+ owner car all of them wanted a garage queen just to use once or twice a week - thats unlikely.

Ferrari you might expect that but on a Taycan that is a red flag. If you see a 2020 Taycan with 20k miles and 5 owners I just don’t think it’s worth the risk when for the same money you can get a 2020 Taycan with 20k miles and 1 or 2 owners.

Here’s one already looking for a new owner, probably Harry and Megan’s car. Crazy you would you buy, wrap, and sell at 1400 miles.

To me that's almost brand new car. Bought mine at 45k miles, guess its near end of life, haha
My dealership said some people sell it because of low winter range that affects all EVs and others because they simply lease a new one.

Your car is almost dead, I wouldn’t risk driving it. If you like, I’ll be kind enough to take it off your hands to save you the headache.

Dunno, mate, you have a habit of charging to 100%, who knows that’ll do to a car on its third owner.
