Lot of Taycan for sale with low miles

Removing Macans from the equation, the lionshare of used 1-2yo Porsches available for sale nearby me in Dallas/Texas are super low miles - many executive type luxury and sports cars from other OEMs seem to follow this trend too. These owners Uber to airports, fly everywhere and live close to work or work from home. Even looking at other markets (not california), many take trains or taxis everywhere because driving and parking is time consuming and expensive. I have a few friends who put fewer than 2k miles a year on their (very nice luxury) cars. One buddy never put a license plate on his car for the 2.5 years he leased his M4 and was never pulled over - I attribute this to how few miles he drives and driving within a five mile bubble. It’s a foreign concept to me but I also enjoy driving.

Had to check that I was on the Taycan forum, some very bizarre statements and views in this thread.

Each country/continent will differ on Taycan or any other brand/car, EV infrastructure is still in its infancy in comparison to ICE fuelling, suppose it relates to percentage of EV’s to ICE and length of time they have been used/on sale. Add different opinions, cultures and they will be no right/wrong….it just boils down to personal experience and views.

Think it’s better to be open to interpretation and avoid confrontation of words….

I went back and read your posts a second time. Clearly you had a lot of trouble with your Taycan, and I'm sorry about that. From what you said about time in the shop, you should have lemoned the car and got your money back.

However, your poor personal experience is not a reason to say that "most folks I know will never buy again", or that "American's love them" because we are used to driving poor quality "home produced cars." I don't know what marque others are coming from, but my guess is that most have owned BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, or Lexus (like me).

So here is the poll I referred to earlier, along with a second poll on the same topic.

• Taycan owners - how happy with purchase? -- 417 respondents from all over the world. 92.3% voted either "Exceeded Expectations", "Very Happy", or "Satisfied". Only 3% were "Very Disappointed"
• Would you buy your Taycan again? -- 372 respondents from all over the world. 84.7% voted "Yes. 100%. No regrets here". Only 7 people (1.9%) voted "No way. I'm done with Porsche's attempt at EV", and the rest were undecided.

Once again, I'm sorry to hear your car was such a lemon, and I totally get why you are moving on. However, the vast majority of Taycan owners on this forum, from all around the world, have no regrets.

Last point - I agree that Porsche technology doesn't yet measure up to Tesla in some areas. However, I bought the Taycan because I love the way it drives. Of course I also test drove Teslas, and I was unimpressed by the ride, the handling, and their overall fit and finish. I can live with Porsche electronics and software for now, and fully expect them to get better over time.

Can we just not have country criticisms on such an international forum? And that includes the U.S. I am actually really enjoying the fact that so many countries are represented here and have learned a lot about the car driving and owning experience abroad because of it.

Well, what I can add to this circular conversation…………I can guarantee that when I complete 3 years of ownership, my Taycan will have min 36,000 miles on it, driven hard, ferried my 65kg Rottweiler, will def have more wear on the accelerator peddle than the brake peddle, no doubt have stone chips and just generally good old fashioned used condition ??

What a ride it’s been in the Taycan world for the last 12 months. I had a new rwd ordered I cancelled it in Feb. It was impossible to get a new taycan. I got an insane deal on a GTS and went for it. Owned the car for 7 months and it’s been a complete nightmare with issues. Half the ownership has been at the dealer, finally contacted my lawyer to get it lemoned. I absolutely love this car when it’s working, it’s the perfect daily. Fast forward to today, I can’t replicate a deal for another GTS as “interest rates” have gone up so much that it’s destroying the lease numbers.

I see online there is so many for sale new and old, it’s unbelievable from not too long ago. I guess I have another 2 months or so to find a replacement. Really hoping to find a nice used 21/22 turbo s model.

As a counterpoint: absolutely love my Taycan. Not the best in all aspects of a car, but the best car I've ever owned as a whole and rounded experience. I drive it more than any of my previous cars given my full time working from home situation and it's been flawless in terms of issues, especially compared to the Mercedes AMG I had last which had multiple issues, albeit all got fixed by Mercedes.

Not sure if it's the MY23 that made a difference, or just that a lot of people would come onto a forum to talk about their issues, instead of satisfied owners just using their car. I'm sure this is the case as I personally know 2 owners who have also had 0 issues and who love their Taycans, one of whom rates it over his previous Aston DB11 V12.

I guess the fact I charge at home majority of the time and I don't often go on very long (200+ mile), journeys is another factor.

The tech is a little slow and is definitely not as proficient as a Tesla, but the car itself drives much nicer and is built to a higher standard than even the brand new Audi's I've owned. And it's usable and works well for most of the time

I would usually be looking at other cars to replace with by this point, but instead I'm going to be keeping it until Porsche have a big technology advance in their EV's. I may be getting a companion car, if the wife stops moaning about us owning a 3rd car!

Anyway, to the original point: in the UK there is a bit of a glut of used Taycan's due to the company tax benefits and the current economic climate. This will ease at some point I'm sure, but not any point soon. In the meantime I will be enjoying my superb car on a daily basis ?

I get there’s no guarantee. But seeing such a drastic reduction in price makes me wary. Also, I saw a cpo 2020 turbo with about 5,000km and 5 (1,2,3,4,5!) previous owners. That raised a red flag and made me question the whole cpo thing. Yeah it’s a one off, but still really weird

I have seen many Taycans that are 2020 or 2021 with 2 to 3 owners! Horrendous!
