Just received an email offering a £5k contribution on a new Taycan.
Not sure how i feel about it really. Seems there is stock around they need to move.

So at one point within the last 3 months there were over 350 new Taycans in stock - unheard of for any Porsche model in UK.

I hope I see this soon in the US market too. With holidays fast approaching, chances are we will see incentives for Porsche to move the metal and show good sales figures for the year.

You can actually get a lot more off than this now, especially if you are also Financing through Porsche. The reality is they are in a pincer movement right now. They have over-priced the cars; they have delays on getting the Macan EV out (software challenges); they need more EV sales to offset their Co2 commitments (something like needing 5 Taycans for every 911 sold - probably part of the reason why the 992.2 is being talked about as having mild-hybrid tech); and finally, high interest rates putting off Taycan buyers that are not necessarily typical Porsche purchasers...

Interesting times.

Add to the mix rapidly falling business confidence in the UK for a typical corporate owner (company Director).

There were way more than 350....I think there were 480+ new ones on their site recently.

As noted above, I'm also pretty sure more than 5k is achievable. That email seems more a "come in, we'll negotiate email" to me :)

They are great cars. But I suspect residuals are going to be choppy. Having a well spec's car will be key, IMO. Not to bag more money, but to bag a sale if needed.

Lots of stock on their web site. I was given 14% off a new GTS that was there unsold.

No strange, when the new model Taycan has been introduced. They want to sell the old stock...

Bit peed off having paid full price in March!!!
Look upon it as pre price increase pricing which might soften the blow. It is almost as if the prices were increased (significantly but not actually applied...yet).

Hopefully used values will stabilise in a year or two.

In March a new Taycan was worth more. So was Porsche stock. Such is life. Value is what people are willing to pay for something, if you could reliably predict that you’d be a billionaire. For cars however, there are some things you could do to help minimize the price, for example always wait until a newer, better car becomes available, so most people want to buy the new one, leaving less people wanting the old one so its value drops. Getting a car that everyone wants usually will cost you more.

My Taycan is priceless… really awesome car. Sorry for the folks whose theres isn’t.

Life is short, just enjoy it. It’s just money, a little bit more, a little bit less, I doesn’t really matter in the end.

With the volume of stock, I'd expect it to take longer personally.

I tend to hold onto cars for at least 5yrs, often longer (my avg is probably 8-10) so not really bothered. I don't see anything on the horizon that's a better proposition.
