For those in the EU: what's the equivalent to the NHTSA for looking up recall information for vehicles?

I don’t know, but I guess it’s different from country to country?
I’m getting a call or email from my dealer and then we schedule a meeting…

Bought a 2020 Taycan Turbo 2 months ago. Absolutely love the car. Have been watching this thread now for a while. Time to dive in. Do I need to run this app under test flight or is the commercial version already done? Is there subscription fee for the test flight version? I just need some basic info on getting started with the app

That will vary from country to country. For Germany I found this:

However, this does not seem to be VIN based but carmaker/model/year based.

App is only available via TestFlight at the moment while I await official Porsche Connect API access. You can use the app for free via https://electricsidecar.app

v1.4.0-40 now adds support for Action Button on the iPhone 15 Pro.

You can now turn on/off climatization or lock your car with the Action Button.

With this release, I've also added support for Siri voice commands, so you can now ask Siri to do any of the following:

- "Start climatization with Sidecar"
- "Start cooling with with Sidecar"
- "Stop climatization with Sidecar"
- "Lock with Sidecar"
- "Lock the car with Sidecar"

Recall information has also been clarified to show that the data is historical, and not necessarily active, plus I've added a link to the NHTSA website where you can look up any outstanding recalls for your VIN.

Yes, run it under Testflight.

Not available on App Store yet.

No subscription fee as of today.

I used the Apple watch face "Modular Ultra" Then you hold the screen to edit and you can choose the icons you would like from the list. Sidecar has its own list, all of which I have used.

Isn’t there any Oauth or similar authentication methods. No offense but inserting logins like that is bad practice in general…

I had already named mine Batmobile due to the colors and look so would love to pilfer that image!

I don’t seem to have Modular Ultra as an option. Just Modular, Modular Compact and Modular Duo (my watch isn’t an ultra). Do you know of the same approach works on the other watches?

also like your phone background. I had already dubbed mine as the Batmobile (black with black and red interior) so really liked what you had done there. Did you create that or is it available somewhere in the app?

I did it, its not an app. If you message me the details of your car, colour and what setting you would like I will do you a few examples and happy for you to use where ever you want.

Are you referring to needing to log into an account? Electric Sidecar has an account sync flow that allows you to log in on your phone and then sync the account to your watch. You can also sign in directly on your watch but unless you have a password manager it can be annoying to type on the watch.

Once your watch is logged in, the watch app is able to operate completely independently of your phone. This is currently the reason why you’ll often see different battery histograms between your watch and phone; I’m still exploring good ways to sync bulk data between the devices without having to rely on any kind of cloud service.
