My normal state of charge (85%) results in a range of 230 miles +/-. The weather in New Orleans is certainly not known for cold temperatures, not even in the winter. Last night’s temperatures was in the 30s . I was going on a bit of a road trip today so I charged to 100% last night and was quite surprised by state of charge this morning: 231 miles. Even as a Newbie, I am aware that these estimates are just guesstimates, but this is the first time there has been such a disparity in the numbers. For example, in the heat of summer (100°) a 100% charge resulted in 276 mile range. I’m assuming that the relatively low number this morning is due to the temperature outside? This may or may not have been covered before in prior threads but I usually like to reach out to the community because I find it has the latest and greatest up to date information on questions asked. As always, thanks for all input.

My 2020 4S routinely charges to 200 miles at 85% here in CT where the winters are colder (rarely gets to freezing for typical range is upper 30s to low 50s). I have not owned it during the warmer months yet so can’t tell you how much of a drop that is due to cold.

Your guess is correct. Recent driving data coupled with ambient temps, the car does its best to "guesstimate" the remaining range. Hence why colder temps vs warmer temps will see such a disparity. You can see, and in real driving realize, up to 30% loss in colder temps. So your range you see in the temperature swings you mentioned are all completely normal.

Based on my limited experience, I‘d guess you’re going to get a summertime boost in your range (hopefully). Thanks for the feedback.

Thank you. Thought so, but I knew that someone would actually know. ?
