This YouTube is clear and may help.
But note that apps such as Octopus, OVO and other non Porsche apps will override the car’s profile and timer. I find those unreliable and simpler just to use the car to control everything. That removes the internet and 3rd party connectivity dependency.
It is also worth checking that ‘direct charging’ is not set on the central console. That overrides all profiles and timers. You’d typically use it when using a public charger or if you want to override cheap rate home charging. Direct charging means ‘charge now’.

In the case of OVO, if you don't use their app then you don't take advantage of the off-peak tariffs and so this is key. Charge Anytime is child's play to set a timer or instant charge (this disables cheap-rate).

Direct Charging is only relevant to AC charging and has no impact on DC charging.

Here’s a screenshots of my charging profile settings in case it helps. Like I said in earlier post in this thread, charges to 85% and stops every time.

Provided no other applications are involved, and direct charging isn’t set, your settings will charge to 85% immediately. The Optimised charging is effective only if you have a Porsche Energy (load) Manager device.

It’s a while since I had OVO so you’re no doubt correct. Good point also regarding DC.

Thank you. No way to deselect that as I don’t want/have a Preferred Charging period.

Also, I saw this early on and forgot about it. If you have Direct Charging On, vehicle will charge to 100% so everyone who doesn’t want that should turn Direct Charging Off.

#sigh. Someone should have mentioned that a page earlier as the possible issue OP was having.

You need to set 85% maximum.
not minimum
Porsche calls in "Minimum*, there is no *Maximum" setting. Confusing, I know.

The purpose of the Timer is to control start and end times within which the desired target charge level should be reached (if possible).
This is wrong. There is no way to control the start time with a timer.

A profile on its own is not enough to control the charging session without risking over charging the set target rate.
This is wrong. A profile set to optimized charging with no HEM will stop at the minimum. I and many others use this very simple setup.

A profile on its own with optimised charging doesn't do anything other than charge until you stop it.
This is wrong. It stops at the minimum.

There is no need for a general profile unless you do a lot of public AC charging (why would you?)
This is a weird take. I think a lot of people only use a general profile because they done have a need for one that’s location based.

We've had this debate on the forum now for over 3 years now
And you’ve been wrong for 3 years. I only respond for others benefit. I know you aren’t going to change.

The labeling isn’t confusing. It is in fact a minimum. What confuses people is that there is no maximum.

This is what I used for 2 years. before switching to an electricity provider who offered smart anytime charging with Taycan integration.

Hi Adrian, last night I followed your suggestion and the charging to 85% worked flawless. Thanks! You’re the expert to consult ?.

Last week I bought a Macan 4 that will be delivered beginning 2025. Hope you will be a source of information too ?

We have been through this so many times - A profile set to optimised charging always stops at the minimum - there is no need for timers.

Glad I searched and found this thread. It’s just what I was looking for. Was thinking “why do I need a Profile and a Timer? That doesn’t makes sense.” But setting the minimum charge indicator to 85% in the Profile solves my problem. It starts charging when I have it set and charges immediately to 85%, which is exactly what I want. Thumbs up!

The profile with a timer works well for my charging and vehicle use scenario, as my rates are cheaper overnight but I have a charge anytime minimum set to 35%. I'm glad to see different options that work for many others.

Profile (only) is fine for basic use case such as charging to a minimum pre-set level of anything between 25% and 100%. In isolation is of little use for charging within specific timing windows where off peak periods are to be provided for.

In UK / parts of Europe off peak rates is a 'thing' and can be hugely beneficial in terms of cost saving - £0.07p / kW vs £0.36p normal rate. Yes, we have expensive cars but mony a mickle maks a muckle, as they say in these parts!

I’m going to revise my earlier comment about “it will start charging when I have it set.” It did not do that. With a Profile only, the car charged to 100% overnight. There was no “maximum” charge defined. Tonight I recreated my Timer to start charging at 10:00 PM with an 85% limit. This minimizes use of the grid during high demand times and the charge screen on my app shows a solid line at 85% indicating the maximum. We’ll see if that yields the desired result.

Always something new and exciting to learn with a new car like this! ?
