I would get the brakes checked out by an independent for corrosion. I really don’t see the need to replace them at such low mileage. Just another Porsche tax.

Thanks I have 35K miles on the car should they be replaced? I hear a rubbing noise when I brake

I doubt it just get it checked by an independent as Porsche will automatically say they need replaced at the 6 year service for 5k.

I may be mixing it up with the four year. Either way I’m not dropping that kind of money unless it’s warranted.

That completely depends on what kind of brakes you have. If you have PSCBs you're looking at an 8K+ brake job.

Don’t you mean PCCB? Believe PSCB brake pads are only 420 a set.

Ah okay that’s with rotors. Still completely insane for something that barely uses the brakes. Especially at only 4 or 6 years of use.

Are you replacing because of time/mileage or wear? I measure mine and the pad light is there to tell you when they are low. You can also clean them vs just replacing everything.

I had PSCBs on my first Taycan. They are nice, dustless and wear slowly. But yeah. I wasn’t looking forward to that repair one day.

I’m sorry, but this is just a silly thread:

1) every modern luxury car has a built in brake sensor that will trigger an alert on your dash when you brake pads are nearing end of life

2) Do your own due diligence. It is literally as simple as visually verifying that there is a few mm‘s of pad material remaining on your pads (if you dont know what this should look like, use Google and I’m sure you can figure it out in 2 minutes)

3) 90% of braking on EVs is done by the electric motor. Outside of some sort of defect, unless you have been tracking your car heavily, there is ZERO reason the Taycan should need a brake replacement before 100,000 mi

Or just spend $1k at the Stealer, it’s your money…
