I think they look good but each to their own, Matrix HD tech seems to have moved on a fair amount.

IMG_1876.jpeg
The tech isn't the issue its the black surround which looks out of place - something you'd get from a Paddy Hopkirk car accessory shop (for those of us old enough to remembe)!

I'm now tired of all this hating, bellyaching and whining about the J1.II model. Any attempt to discuss any aspect of the refresh cars is always derailed by this bullying behavior, similar to the depreciation stuff, and repulsively like the bad behavior on rennlist from which this forum used to be above.

If you don't like the new car, then don't buy it. Already have a Taycan? Great! Why would you trade up on a 3 year old car anyway. Think Porsche has made mistakes? Write some letters to Porsche. Porsche isn't reading this website, they aren't listening to your rants. All you're doing is spreading your hate across all the people who came here to be part of a Taycan community, including interest in the latest developments.

Let's tag this post [Rants] so users who don't like design discussions can avoid this thread. Many including me bought this car for the way it looks not for its EV capabilities which are still average.

I'm going to stick my neck out here and say that this is a bit of an overreaction.

In bright colors the base front looks very soft and not unique, similar to BYD Seal which looks sportier to me. The Turbo is ok but a step back from original and fake vents in rear bumper are disgusting. Interior doesn't bring anything new, again too cheap in base spec.
Fake vents in the front too - powered charge port is no longer optional.

UK approved used site :)

Porsche Taycan: New and used cars for sale | Porsche Finder GB

This one is Shade Green apparently....

Why does this look like a cost optimized knock-off of the original to me? At first I thought the base front apron looked ok on the configurator, but looking at the picture above, it just looks so bland. If I saw this car on the road before I knew there was a Taycan refresh, I would have thought it was a kit car trying to resemble a Taycan or perhaps one of the Chinese brands.

I agree with this, it looks like a Taycan from Ali Express

None of the dozens of UK cars seem to have Porsche Active Ride ? Perhaps the dealers speccing these cars think it’s a waste of money?
Active Ride would be one of few features I would add to my Gen 1 Taycan. I image active ride would limit the front-back rocking of the Taycan which I find slightly annoying.

Wow, that is the description that eluded me earlier! At least this picture, it really does look (to me) like an Ali Express version of the Taycan.

The extra resolution sounds great, provided Porsche is taking advantage of it, rather than just using it like the old lights. Esthetically though, the lights as mounted on Gen 2 Taycan just look much less interesting than Gen 1 Taycan, IMO of course.

Welcome to the internet and people sharing their opinions, not everyone likes or dislikes the same things. From my old Tesla forums days, where some people only wanted to hear positive things about Elon or Tesla, start a new thread about ONLY positive things about Gen 2 Taycan, where any mention of any drawbacks would be out of scope for the topic. Then stick to reading that thread, report any post with non-positive comments about Gen 2 Taycan to the moderators as off-topic. Problem solved.

It is cost optimization, for 2.5k sport design package now only adds small plastic parts painted, and Turbo has same diffuser across all versions but two fake vents for differentiation from the rear.
I think Porsche want us to get the Turbo if we want the Mission E look.

Anyone have info about which of the described HD Matrix LED headlight features will be operational in US?
2025 4S configurator today says:
Porsche Taycan MY25s in stock! 1714305184547-ht

Not sure what this $1700 option provides in US.

Personally I would agree with most in terms of the looks, preferring the original to the refresh. I do wish any vents were real and served a purpose as well. However, in terms of tech improvements - drive train, battery density, regen and particularly chassis developments - I think Porsche have done an amazing job for what is after all an interim update. That’s more changes than what you typically see from Porsche between .1 and .2 versions, across any models.

I just wish they would have also introduced a proper coupe version of the car but perhaps that would have cannibalised 911 sales so was not an option.

If you start a thread, you get what you get.

If you want absolute editorial rights, you start your own forum or ask the owner of this one to ban what you don't like.

As you note, we all like different stuff. If more like something you don't, who cares

To bluesky.... Bullying? Get out more. Toughen up. It's people shooting the breeze on the internet about a 6-figure car. Turn it off if you're so fragile you don't like people disagreeing with your viewpoint.
