Not a comforting thing to read as someone who’s awaiting a shipper pickup for a CA-MI journey…

This shipper has been good to work with in the past, but you know the old saying about past performance not being any guarantee of future results…

Ok, resuming the travelogue! I got up early in Albuquerque and hit the nearest Electrocute America site. I remembered it being a poor performer in 2022, and it was again this time.

Next stop was Grants NM. I forgot to take a picture, but trust me when I say there’s nothing to see.

My second full-stop traffic jam of the trip! This one was shorter than the one in Oklahoma, at least.

I burned a ton of time in Winslow. See the notes for all the bad, underperforming charging experiences.

This is a neat little stop in Williams AZ, the “Gateway to the Grand Canyon.”
The stop is hidden behind a La Quinta hotel.

Both 350kW units consumed by Mustang Block-E’s, and both charging to literal 100%.
Total newbs.

Fortunately the one on my charger was willing to stop early when I asked if he needed the full 100%.
Ripped a great rate here.

This is one of my favorite stops; I got a spectacular nighttime photo on my 2022 drive.
This one, my picture sucked. The lone 350kW unit was taken by a Fisker Ocean, but toughing out the 150kW was not too bad.

I needed to get out and walk to McDonalds anyway, so I just rolled with it and did not bother to move once they left.

Ah the famous Najah Hi Sahara Oasis! Famous for $9/gallon gas. Had a nice fast charge, bought some bottles of tea and powered on.

Barstow is a busy Walmart site, but I fortunately pulled up just as someone else left.
This was my first “balanced” charger of the trip, so for once I didn’t have to worry about a broken/underperforming 350kW unit, or a Block-E or Dolt using it.

Another balanced site - yay! Except all consumed by Mach-Es.
I had to take the Chademo unit at 150kW.

I decided to take a picture of the bugs on the front.
