What are these orange things in the CT hatch? Are they just weights to balance the hatch? Or do they have some additional function?

Here is where they are with the whole hatch exposed.

Although it looks suspiciously like two sticks of TNT
Yea, that was my first thought too, but no detonator wires - it is a Porsche though, so perhaps the wires cost extra. TNT-prewire option? Required for the “off menu” self destruct option?

Anti kidnapping self defense nunchucks?
Takes way too long to get to. “Mr. Kidnapper, can you please stand by while I pry open the hatch panel?”

None that couldn’t pop up through the removable shelf above the trunk.
Of course they can with the Porsche nunchucks! That’s what they are for!

From the photo, these are made by WEGU Manufacturing, who make automotive rubber and plastic parts. The are suppliers to VW since the 1960s. You probably have the liner back on, but a photo of the part label would likely reveal a part name. Dampers is my vote, but wow, that is a bizarre place, and two of them, no less. They must have tried one and it wasn't enough! And what was intended to attach to the holes in the brackets?

I can see a bunch of them for sale by Porsche dealers, but no description what they are.

From the french Porsche website, it's called "vibration-damping mass". So I guess this is just what they are...

Wow, where did you find that site with details of all the parts.

Is it something you could share, thanks
