My dealer had every PTS as example on a wall. I remember seeing over 100 options. IMO they have to, if I was in the market for a 911 or 718, PTS would be a must. For PTS plus they will make a sample for you, hence the price I guess?

Yes.

Well, what did you expect?
I find the colors to be extremely delicious. That is, by the way, one well-written app/page, I went through 100+ colors yesterday - all beautifully and quickly rendered. It sure as hell beats Rennbow.com. I saw some old favorites, and while it’s not for me, I’m glad that some customers can now have their favorite car in their favorite color straight from the factory. I wouldn’t call the option “cheap”, but if, say, one were to put that in the context of respraying a car to a different color, it’s actually a bit of a bargain.

Agreed....it's pretty amazing that they can inventory so many colors.
I have enjoyed my Mamba Green metallic (no longer available) 2020 4S, but it appears that I will be a candidate for this new program when I order my Cayman E. That is, unless the no-cost colors are wonderful.
The current no premium offerings are very dissapointing.

I understand that - what I dislike is some dealers being so focused on sales rather than happy customers- select people offered GT3’s - obsession with ‘Golf’ - there are many customers who are able to buy what they like yet are sucked into the ‘Porsche’ image of Golf, Vanity plates, beige trousers and a right wing view of life. I subscribe to none of the above and just want decent‘customer service’ … not a lot to ask really.

If you click the color and dismiss the color chooser so you can see the car rendering, you can read at the very bottom which other models have that color available. For example, mintgrun is available also on 718 and 911 as PTS. Strange that some standard colors are listed as PTS colors for Taycan.

The Porsche PTS page isn’t new, I found out about it from this forum. I don’t think the renderings are correct, I spent a lot of time looking at rennbow, other Porsche color sites and just searching by color and I believe one really needs to see a color plate at the dealer if no car to look at is available.

I just hope that Porsche does not someday pull a douchebag move (like their pal Elon) and classify black as a PTS color. But I do think it is great that Porsche allows folks with bad taste, i.e. those who prefer a color other than black, to get exactly what they like. ?

Whether black is a color or just the absence of all color is a subject that has been debated for centuries. As a proud member of the Black Taycan Club, I am pleased to report that Porsche has, once and for all, settled the debate by defining "Black" as an "Exterior Color" on the configurator. <- All Black Emoji.
