US State annual inspection - Porsche dealer or no?

My first Porsche, my first EV.

For those of you in the US where annual State inspections are routinely required - do you bring your Taycan to the Porsche dealer for that to be done, or will any local shop do? I've heard some concerns that non-Porsche shops won't know how and/or have the right equipment to lift the car properly. Any other concerns? It's a bit of a pain for me to get to the dealership, and I'd love to be able to deal with this locally, if no risk to the car in the process.

I always get my annual state inspection at the dealer, especially since it typically aligns with the annual service.

What annual service? I thought there was only mileage-based service recommendations?

When I still lived in a state requiring that 10 years ago, I drove to China town, paid <100 bucks and get the paperwork done. That's all I needed.

I own a 2021 Taycan 4S and live in PA. I have taken it to my local mechanic for the last two years and have not had any issues. The car has passed each time. It was much more convenient than the dealer.

Thanks for the responses - for those that bring them to local mechanic - does your State require that they lift the car? I recently moved (Maine), and apparently here they do.

Nope, none of the inspections needed the cars to be on a lift, always on the ground for ICE and otherwise.

Fortunately in NJ, annual vehicle inspections for EVs are not required
