Can you source and deliver your own OEM battery to them?

Honestly I don’t even know if the stealership is to blame or if these are fixed non negotiable terms from Porsche. But @DerekS, what about Tom Wood in the Community ?
Unfortunately at this point, the only way this gets fixed is if news organizations start reporting on it.Honestly I don’t even know if the stealership is to blame or if these are fixed non negotiable terms from Porsche.
But someone needs to fix this because who would buy any EV when it’s effectively disposable when you get an underbody dent?
Sounds like a lot of customers would get lucky if this happened at this dealership.Maybe the OP can get lucky and the battery will catch fire and burn down the dealership.
Someone, ideally with some blue checkmark, should tweet at Elon. It would require some catchy phrasing, but if Elon replies, more than one news outlet will grab it - you have can buy 2 new Model 3's for the price of one dent repair on a Taycan! If things don’t get sorted out I would reach out to a local news outlet. They would love something like this with all the anti ev
What appears to be happening is a stereotypical car dealer service extorsion, taken to new heights than usual. Suddenly @Maelstrom gets the $12K core charge credit only if it turns out the battery is not damaged?!? If not damaged, why did it need replacement then? This dealer is flat out extorting money, at this point not even hiding it.So if a battery is 26650 with no mention of a core exchange, WTF is going on here?
No, we need the whole Porsche to lose sales in order to actually action on this. We will just have to tell everyone not to buy a Porsche EV.@Maelstrom I’m sorry for you… this thread is hard to read without getting angry, can’t imagine what you are going through.
The tone of voice and the action makes me feel that the dealership is taking it personal. Really strange for a dealership connected to the Porsche brand. Curious why they are so hostile. I hope they loose a lot of sales and service appointments because of this thread.
Since Porsche sold these cars with the advertisement that they can repair batteries etc, I think its a case of "false advertisement" ? Maybe you can sue them in your country? So, a little update after speaking with the service rep this morning (they didn't call me back yesterday). I asked them to put the car back together so it was driveable, as of yet they haven't actioned that.
They are pushing to get the repairs done and even informed me that there is a HV tray in North America somewhere so there's no need for the $5.5k freight charge. That being said, this potential for a core replacement needs to be approved by my insurance company before I do anything.
In the interim I'm going to speak to Porsche Columbus in OH as someone DM'd me about their experience with them and the fact they have a couple of Taycan techs is a bonus (Tom Wood only has 1)
My main obstacle i cant get over in my head is the total lack of diagnostic data and obviously the lack of errors and/or lights.
I'm going to call Porsche Columbus this morning (it's only 190 miles away) and see what they have to say as well as ask them for a replacement HV tray cost
Still crickets from PCNA
