Just purchased Taycan CT (MY21) from Porsche dealer - driving home thought the air con was a bit powerful, so tried to turn off and heat up the cabin. Turns out that the heater isn't working ...surely Porsche's famous 111 point check on all cars would pick these things up?

I understand that this is likely to be an HV heater issue - if it is, any idea how long it's likely to take to fix.

Not a great start to Taycan ownership....

That’s bad. I had almost the same last year when I picked up my 2022 Taycan. After 1 week the heather broke. It got fixed pretty quickly and they gave me a nice Cayenne GTS loaner. It’s working since, but still concerned if it will survive this winter..

If it is the HV heater - do I understand it correctly that an 'upgraded' part is now used to ensure against repeated failures, or is this something that's going to hang over the car every time I switch it on....!?

Fingers crossed that resolves the issue.

Also, the My Porsche app indicated that the battery was charged to 55% - got in the car and it was actually at 98%. I tried reconnecting and updating, but the app is still out of sync/not connecting.

Any advice on this and whether I need to flag as another issue...

I would call out your dealership as all HV heaters were the subject of a recall.

I had it on my 4S (MY21) the day I picked up my new GTS (MY23).

My GTS delivery was delayed due to a stop sale on the HV heater which was replaced on day 1. I've just had the brake recall work done and they also replaced what was a working HV heater (go figure).

There should not be any HV heater issues on older cars at this point if serviced and sold via an official Porsche outlet.

Not impossible for the replacement to fail also but cases of this should be much rarer. Not heard of any yet in the facelift J1.2 Taycans.

Quality control from OEMs continues to be of concern.

Hmm - it is disappointing. The fact that the problem was obviously there at the dealer before I drove off is not good.

They also sold me the wrong charging cable as well...

Cable?

Standard MY21 E-Performance kit (including Porsche Mobile Charger Connect Plus (PMC+)). Depending when the car was on sale it may have shipped with the PMCC (more desirable) as the PMC+ was in short supply.

The public charging cable (Mode 3) was an extra on MY21 but later models it was standard. I've not used my MY23 one as I don't public AC charge so you may not need it and certainly not needed if your AC EVSE is already tethered (many aren't of course).

I got a non-tethered charger (call me untrusting - but it would be able to be accessed by anyone and didn't want to risk tampering). Came with the PMCC but not the Public Charging cable I needed.

Car needs to be reachable. Is your car in a place with signal, and can it connect to stable internet connection?

It doesn’t have the strongest 4g chipset around, so signal is spotty as soon as the car is under some sort of roof

Ah - that's likely to be the issue. V poor signal in our village (folk still stop and point at airplanes round here!).

I took my phone into the car and connected via bluetooth. Still no change to My Porsche app charge indicator. This suggests that either there is an issue or the car tranfers data via 4G signal not bluetooth?

Yes indeed.

LTE is there - I had to refresh the link with my phone (even though showing it was connected) and this did the trick - now appears to be back in sync.
