Issues with cellphone GPS in the cabin

Has anyone else with the insulated glass had issues with cell phone GPS while inside the car? I have found with my iphones 13 Pro & 15 Pro that apps which use the GPS like Waze, are reporting no GPS signal, frequently. It usually means not having reliable directions. If I put the phone outside the window, the issue resolves itself but a short time after bringing it back inside, the no-GPS error returns.

It is sort of frustrating as Waze is my preferred navigation app. The in vehicle map set is years behind and with the amount of construction going on near me, it will always be behind the times.

Try to see if it’s the same when you are connected with carplay.
I don’t have this issue and used iphone 12 pro, 14 pro and now 16 pro.
But I think I had problems when it was not connected to carplay

I will try this.

I read another thread where the owner noted diminished GPS inside the cabin using a dashcam.
That person didn't say anything about the cell phone but the GPS of the dashcam uses the same as that of a cell phone, albeit probably at 4G and not 5G.

The glass is a great option but i find the phone is simply worse because of it.
Never had a GPS fail - at least not that I’m aware of - but the phone’s signal and data drops significantly.

It still exhibits the behavior. Just on the Taycan screen instead of my phone.

Funny enough, my daughter's iPhone 15 Pro really didn't know where the car was in the middle of navigating a route, just yesterday. I have the 16 Pro and have never had the issue.

Yea, this is what I experience all the time. It does it with my 15 pro as well as my wife's.
I don't have the 16 Pro and won't be replacing the 15 until next year with the 17 Pro.

I have this same issue with a 2020 Taycan. My GPS on carplay will drop out and be totally lost. The solution is meant to be using the wireless charger to use the cars antena. This does not work for me.

Car is Taycan Turbo S with insulated glass. Phone is on Verizon.
