@Jonathan S.
Does 72 months not mean 72 months from date vehicle was first in service (by original owner)?
I see it starts on purchase date of contract.

In looking at Fidelity plan vs Porsche plan, Fidelity defines the covered parts as parts it specifically lists. Porsche plan defines covered parts as everything except what is specifically excluded.

I have no idea whether the covered parts listed on the Fidelity contract omit anything important on a Taycan or any other vehicle.

Of course if neither party has a dispute, then exact terms on a contract may not matter.

There's been variable mention of members using fidelity for extended warranty with reasonable pricing and minimal hassle for claims. Can anyone confirm if this is referring to the company based out of Deerfield Florida? I'd like to compare to what Porsche Dealer might offer. 22 RWD owner here with 26K miles and intention to keep until 100K. Love the car! So far I've had internal alarm sensor replaced within the first month, heater recall, and recent charging error fixed with dealer software update.

Look up Fidelity Warranty Services. But more importantly, check what the written contract says.

I've read about plenty of happy Fidelity customers at both Porsche and Audi R8 forums.
For pricing, email [email protected] and also go to https://steingoldvolvocars.factoryprotect.com/get-free-online-quote.html with RENNLIST discount code. They're both just seller agents for the same product, with competitive pricing.

On Wednesday I contacted ten Porsche dealerships for pricing on their extended service plans.
So far (i.e., by end of business on Thursday) I have received pricing from only two of those ten dealerships.

I've had a similar experience. Must not be good business for them if they're not interested.

Once my optional vehicle service plan is in effect, I'm interested in the details of the plan coverage (see post #32) and the reliability of the service provider.

At that point, who the sales agent was and how responsive they were is not important.

Agreed!
I’m baffled though at how a quick sale with a commission of perhaps a few hundred bucks apparently isn’t worth a reply consisting of a single number.

Wow I just spoke with fidelity (very nice over the phone) who informed me that for California vehicles the warranty HAS TO be purchased via the dealership. That being said I was just quoted in writing what I interpret as a very reasonable price of $6764 for 100K miles platinum United care coverage for my 22 RWD with 26K miles on it now.

^ Out of curiosity, I entered a CA zip code for a dealership that provides on-line Fidelity quotes, and indeed, doesn't sell in CA! (Meanwhile, on day three of trying to obtain quotes from dealers, still at only two for ten...)

And now I'm up to three quotes out of ten contacted Porsche dealers.

The range among those three has been a few hundred dollars.
So shopping around pays off ... but not by much.

To my surprise (or in at least in contrast to some other Porsche forum threads), Safe-Guard is less than Fidelity for comparable terms for mileage (100k and 98k miles, respectively) and years (very short for both). Although that's for $250 Safe-Guard ded and $500 Fidelity. The $250 Fidelity option would require seven repairs over the course of 48k miles to pay off.

The wild card of sorts is that my servicing dealer offers Zurich, which seems rare for Porsche.
At a "Consumer Affairs" website ("We are not a government agency and may be paid by companies displayed.") even the scathing reviews are replied to with exactly the same text:

I've read through this string as well as the other recent warranty string and I'm convinced that an extended warranty is best for my scenario. I plan to keep the car for another 7 years or so. I put about 10k a year on the vehicle. I've had all the typical recalls and I still LOVE this car. Could I easily afford a 5K or 10k or 15k repair? I responsibly bought a 100K+ car so the answer is yes. Do I want to risk a costly repair occurring once or multiple times vs insuring against it for 6.7K for 100K miles? Personally, I'll sleep better and continue to enjoy my car best with the extended warranty. Why? I like predictability. If I'm out 6.7K than it was my choice and it was predictable. Can I predict future defects for this relatively new tech and how much they will cost? Nope.

[United States] My extended warranty shopping expedition led me to Fidelity and some other places. I ended up buying the maximum coverage policy from XCelerate Auto (XCare) because they seem to get EVs and exclude little from coverage. Having said that, my policy took effect last week and I have no claims experience with them.
