Watch Netflix or Youtube on your Taycan while Charging

Hi, has anyone used the AI Box (or Carplay Box, whatever they are called) to set up Netflix/Youtube on their Taycan? It would be good to have that while DC charging the car for 30 minutes. I am generally not a fan of installing cheap software gadgets on my vehicle, so I am hesitant to buy the ones that I get ads for on Instagram. Wondering if there is a pretty legit one that works, or if you've tried one that you can recommend. Thanks all.

I have the one Castro AI box ultra and it works great for video. I have to use my phone as a hotspot for internet access. I bought a prepaid SIM card with data and I never got the device to read it so I just use my phone. It basically uses your Apple car play function(when you press the green apply CarPlay button it pops up) it is really plug and play. I haven’t really used it for music just sitting and watching Netflix and you tube. It works while driving(not that anyone should do that)

Thank you. Saw another post about a native YouTube ad. Looks like there is a discussion about whether 2024s will get it or not. Sure hope so.

I ordered my Carplay AI Box Ultra from the link you posted. But I have not any success getting the unit to work with my 2022 Taycan CT. Can you assist me with some guidance of what I am may be doing wrong.

After you plug the unit into the usb-c port in the arm rest there should be a message which pops up on the Porsche PCM about carplay. You should answer yes to it. After that the unit should automatically load. The AI unit should light up once plugged in. Otherwise if it's plugged in you can go the the Porsche PCM home page and go to devices and it should be one of the devices under your phone. You can click on the unit from there to get things started. If you get it to start I just use turn on my hotspot on my phone(iphone) to get internet access and unlock Youtube, netflix, etc.

I am still having some issues with getting the unit to load up right. Plug and Play is what everyone is saying. The company sent me these instructions. So I will try this and see if I can get it to work. Going out of town for Christmas, be nice to have it up and running. But if you don't mind walking me through how you were able to get it up and running. Everything to loading app on phone, plug it up to car, etc....

Are you using the cable supplied with the device?

At first no. Then I plugged the new supplied cable and it did not do anything different. Maybe I need to remove everything off the PCM and the phone when I hook up the supplied cable.

this "fix" seems to be problematic, if you are charging properly on a road trip you would be charging in under 30 minutes, I question the need of adding this capability to the car.
