Any problems I should be aware of before finalising a deal with a 09/2020 taycan Turbo/Turbo S Model?

Someone else with more experience can chime in but I read that MY2020 doesn’t support remote lock/unlock via app - you might not also get status of windows or lock.
Also it doesn’t support auto lift mode (raise the car up based on location).
These two plus HUD came in on MY2021 other than that it’s all the same 2020-2023

Model year 2020, especially early models, hve had a lot of issues, much more than later years.

Correct that the MY20 does not support remote locking, unlocking. The necessary Hardware is not installed according to Porsche .
It does show if windows, doors or trunk/frunk is open though. You just need to. Lick in the app on the green check mark to bring it up.

MY20 does indeed have the Smart Lift function for the Turbo/Turbo S though. Also all location based Smart Lift .

However there is some question about battery/ battery management that will show the MY 20 to have more issues with HV battery than later years?

If you go in with eyes open and get the extended warranty, you should be ok. But the MY20 can have more issues than later models.
’’I would personally look for a later model year ( I own a MY 20 Turbo).

That is very helpful, would a September Model be considered as a safer bet, or still stay under the same category?

The main feature I'm looking for are hard to find, especially on OPC platform. That is why I started considering My 2020.

I am not sure when the improvements came through, but I think it was gradually over the years. And at some stage there were discussions that 2021 or 2022 models had some difference in the battery design/construction/chemistry, but nothing stated official. When replacing modules in battery repair they said to use newer modules though?

And you might be in luck and the MY20 car will have no issues at all! Heater problems you are perhaps likely to get with any Taycan younger than late MY23 model.

Thanks mate. If I can ask further, does My 20 support plug and charge?

No it does not with the standard 11 kW charger. I think there was some certificate in the car that was no good and could not be updated?

But to be honest I have never missed it, I just use a charging card and tap charger.

Re post-2020 Taycan HV battery chemistry changes but nothing stated official:
Is a Porsche TSB "official"?
;)

I have a MY20 4S.. love it, I was in the market for a discounted MY24. however this battery recall has me reviewing my options moving forward… the plan so far seems pretty crappy, and there doesn’t seem to be certainty on any of it other than there is an issue.

I wouldn’t do it. I had one, before my taycan ct.
range issues, limited updates.
a 2021 model 22 would be better
the Bentley is even better.

Range and updates are the exact same for all J1.1.

Make sure all recalls have been performed as well as HV heater update. 2020 models can't do Plug & Charge however in the US for $5-7K you can have the 22KW charger installed to give you Plug and Charge. ( I did that to my 2020 4S ).

I have had a MY20 Turbo S for 6 months, bought approved used from a Porsche dealer and have not had any issues. It’s a great car. Doesn’t have Plug and Charge but I bought the Crest with RFID, never missed plug and charge. But i have had it only for 6 months so might not be the best one to advise…

I have a 22 kw charger in my CT but no plug and charge possible.
it’s pending on countries. Noton a 22 kw or 11 kw.
