PCM update for full screen CarPlay (non-OEM)

I read on another forum about someone who created an “update” whereby Apple CarPlay is full screen in the PCM / center screen. The release notes don’t specifically say that it’s compatible with Taycan, but other PCM5 cars are compatible. If our cars (2020-2024 Taycan J1) are compatible, would you try this?

Why would we do that? Our PCM 6.0 already displays full screen Apple CarPlay.

Taycan is PCM 6. So is taycan facelift from 2025.

This already supports full screen carplay, or i guess it's full windowed, as to still leave access to home menus.

This update is for older cars running PCM5 or Equivalent VW group software.

Would I do this if someone leaked the taycan facelift PCM6 updates? Yes.

This is something I did on our 2018 Macan S running PCM5. Worked like a charm and that car can now run wired android auto, full screen.
As said, useless for the Taycan.

This is a common hack for other PCMs that not only enables both CarPlay and Android Auto but also makes it full screen. I paid for a 3rd party to do this for me on a Macan it works as if it is a native function. Agree with others, does not apply to the Taycan.
