Greetings. I'm posting after spending a week boiling my brain trying to fully understand the Taycan from the manual, videos and historical posts here and elsewhere. So apologies if this has been gone over already.

It appears that unlike other vehicles that have lane departure warning and lane keep assist features, Taycan does not allow one to be enabled without the other. Specifically I would like to have lane departure warning turned on, but lane keep assist turned off. I only see "Lane Keep Assist" as a single option to enable or disable.

It would be helpful if someone could confirm my understanding here. Thanks.

My vehicle has these options:

79 J Lane Change Assist (LCA)
6I6 Emergency Assist incl. Lane Keep Assist
P49 Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
3V2 Porsche InnoDrive incl. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)

Most of the info is here - https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/t...e-lane-keep-assist-active-lane-keeping.12653/
In general LKA is the options that keeps you in the lane if the car detects you are out of it, it can be disabled from the lower left stalk with button (different location on the stalk between Gen 1 and 2)
It is not a single option, you can disable it when you hit the steering wheel buttons on the "drive assist" menu when it's displays on the drivers dash (left circle) and enable/disable the lane keep specifically from there

Hi thanks. I have already read that thread. Neither it nor your post unfortunately answers my question. At least I don't think so. Question specifically is : how can lane keep be turned off, but lane departure warning kept ON? I think above you advised only how to turn both features on and off together. Apologies if I misunderstood.

All Taycans (as per all new cars for some years now by law / refulation) have Lane Keep Assist (audible tone and auto countersteer of the wheel to keep in lane).

Layering ACC,, Innodrive (includes Active Lane Keep), and Lane Change Assist (blind spot monitoring) are optional.

All should be configurable in the PCM and some from the stalk.

Lane Departure Warning (LDW) either on or off:

Just leave ALK on. The number of times it does the wrong thing is very small, and it is super easy to correct (or flip off when you want to span lanes for some reason eg passing a wide load). It gives you a second pair of eyes on the road and will save lives if you have a moment’s inattention.

ALK is not needed per se given LDW is there by default and performs the same correction and warning activity - it just doesn't "steer" the car. Also requires InnoDrive to be optioned and subscription active (many people don't have this option).

I think you're talking about LKA here, not ALK (one randomly nudges the steering if it thinks you're in the wrong place, the other is supposed to drive smoothly in the lane without random nudges).

Anyway, I disagree. I see LKA as quite dangerous. Perhaps because I live in a place that has snow and ice, with snowplows that grind off the road markings. Also the US is just pretty bad at maintaining roads so the markings can be plain wrong at times.

Ok thanks. It's LKA that I would like to turn off, not LDW. It seems, although for some reason nobody has clearly said so, that my suspicions are correct: it is impossible to put the Tycan into a configuration where LDW is enabled but LKA is disabled. You can only have both on or both off. Perhaps you can have LKA on but LDW "off" by turning its volume down.

Thanks. This confirms my experience that it is not possible to disable only LKA (but retain LDW).

I still take the view that if there is a safety feature on the car, I don't want to disable it as a matter of course (excluding certain scenarios like snow, straddling a lane to avoid a wide load, driving down the middle of a country lane to avoid potholes etc). Anything the computer can do to protect me from making an error in a tiny moment of misjudgement, it should do.

Heroic and/or perfect drivers will of course take a different view. There are quite a lot of those in the Porsche community :)

Umm, doesn't this do what you want?

Both are mutually exclusive.

By the way, your video is extremely helpful. Thank you.
However, I do have a problem I have auto land keep and keep (ALK) assist, Innovo drive etc. Thanks for sharing the GREEN steering wheel when it is driving. I have a problem where the GREEN steering steering wheel disappears without any WARNING !!! Is there anyway to get at least an audio beep - am I missing something?

Nope, not in my experience - happens when the road markings aren't clear enough for the car to guide itself. You have to be awake ?.

Not the OP, but I know what he's saying. No, the LKA does both an audio warning and a steering wheel nudge. You can't disable the steering wheel nudge without disabling the audio warning also.
