The local dealership told me that my Mobile Charger Connect is being recalled, they will give me a replacement. Anyone else get this?

I searched and only found the recall for the mobile charger plus. I hope they didn't make a mistake...
J1.1

Thanks!

There have been a couple of TSBs for campaigns involving Porsche Charger Connect. Such as WPU1 and APB6. Posts linking to those TSBs can be found on this forum.
Ask your dealer for the Porsche campaign ID to determine what applies to your charger.

To my surprise, I received the same notice when I took my car in last week. I didn't have the campaign number, but vehicle history indicates there have been two this far:

APB61 - Supply cable
WPU1F - cable (again) and PMCC reprogram

As @Tooney and @Flying ace said, one increment of the EVSE recall is APB6. Note that Porsche initially provided "backwards" NEMA replacement cables, and then phased them out in favor of correctly designed cables. Personally, I'm refusing the recall until my dealership depletes their supply of the backwards NEMA cables and must provide me with the newer, correctly designed cable. See page 4 of the bulletin here:

Interesting. I had the backwards one. I'll report back when I collect the car this Thursday

Thank you for the information! I'll make sure to ask for the newer cable. I was told that one is being ordered for me, so hopefully that means the newer one is what I'll get.

My recall # is WRA6, I'm not sure if this makes things different.

Here is forum post linking to TSB about PMC+ and PMCC vehicle cables overheating.
Fix is to replace the vehicle-side cable.
I don't know whether this is campaign WRA6 or not.

there have been multiple recalls on this stupid thing. The latest is to replace the vehicle side charging cable (I just had it done). I've never used the thing, ever.

Good to know about the vehicle/j1772 side cable is being replaced now. Honestly after briefly using the pmcc, I noticed that the vehicle side cable is significantly thinner than my chargepoint flex, and at that time I already suspected it was probably not up to snuff for heat management. What a comedy of errors!

Got the new cable yesterday. It's the same size as the previous cable, at least it's the same from the outside.

I never had issues before, hoping this new cable doesn't jinx it.

Vehicle-side cable is same thickness as Tesla’s equivalent mobile charger vehicle-side cables, fwiw. (Not intended as an endorsement of either.)

Funny I got the thing back with the car end replaced and I haven't even opened the bag, it went right back on the garage shelf. Now you've inspired me to be curious and look at it haha.

I thought the problem was some parts had bad crimps near the J1772 end that caused significant heating - enough to cause the car to shut off charging - not a problem with the cable wire gauge.
