Hi there,
picked up my MY21 4S at Zuffenhausen today including HUD and active parking assistant.
regarding the HUD and its „hideous“ mounting on the free-floating dash I attached some more pictures from different angles.
I personally think it looks quite nice and is seamlessly integrated into the dashboard.

But what really blew me away is the configurability of the content shown.
for that I attached some pictures of the settings in the PCM as well as the HUD display itself. With the button on the right side of the steering wheel to toggle between changing the three dials the HUD simply becomes a fourth dial in which you can switch easily (with the scroll wheel)
between navigation, powermeter, assist functions etc. as well as a customizable view in which I placed powermeter and G-force meter side by side.

To sum it up:
The HUD is so much better than I expected so that I’m really glad I chose it.

Thx for sharing!
Looks very nice indeed!
Although I think the HUD isn't that usefull, the cover fits perfectly!
Would love to retrofit if that would be possible...

I’m curious to know why those people who don’t like HUDs or don’t think they are useful, have that view.

i have been driving my BMW X3 with its limited 3 colour HUD for 8 years. Every time I get in my wife’s car, which doesn’t have a HUD, I go, shit the HUD is broken!

Without it, I feel almost blind until I start remember to look down at the instrument cluster, and during those moments, there is a definite unease as your eyes are not on the road.

I know that most people get along fine without a HUD, but you really notice it when it’s gone.

I am sure it’s the same for RWS, PTV and PDCC... so I’m glad I ordered those too!

I totally agree. I really miss the HUD I’ve had for 15 years in my BMWs. I’m still not used to having to look away from the road to see my speed. HUD, and soft close doors are things Porsche really should have gotten into such an expensive, and otherwise luxurious, car.

Put on some polarized prescription sunglasses every time you drive and see how that works out for seeing the HUD... :p

I wear prescription photochromic glasses to drive, never had a problem seeing my HUD.

There's need-to-have and like-to-have.
I like to have a HUD but it wasn't available at the time.
Besides, I'm defenately not saying it's useless, it's really nice.

I specifically waited for the 2021 build to have the HUD. Originally, I actually wasn’t going to buy the Taycan because it didn’t have a HUD.

yes reading previous comments about the 'hideous' HUD is comical. it looks better with and useful also. would never order a car without HUD if its an option.

Thanks for posting the pics.

Anyone with a 2021 with ACC/innodrive seen what can be ordered on FoD?

Are your photochromic lenses polarized? That's not the same thing, other than they both start with P.

Why would I want polarised lenses, there’s enough polarisation in politics to go around without having my lenses polarised too.

Anyway, I wouldn’t be able to see my HUD if my lenses were polarised!
