Intrigued why it’s taking so long for your delivery since you’re so close to the factory?
Are you getting anything unique added that is slowing down the process?

I don't think being close to the factory adds any possibility of accelerated availability. Sure It helps timewise regarding shipment/transportation.
The Taycan that was ordered is quite off-the-shelf, so no additional wait for customization.
BUT the question is still a good one, as I forgot to mention a minor but important detail:
The Taycan will replace a Panamera., The Panamera has been leased, and contract will expire 2021/01.
So the long time between order and planned delivery date is by design and in no way an indication of any adverse issues.
Citing from above, I'm still quite sure:
" So, until there is no serious CV19 outbreak in Zuffenhausen, we can stay confident. "

My dealer (Silverstone) called on Monday (02/11) to update me on my order, CP8 was 23/10, and it had just arrived at Emden.

Apparently no disruption expected given the latest lockdown, and whilst the front-house of the dealership are in lockdown behind the scenes sales, maintenance, service, logistics etc are still operating as normal and uneffected.

Basically, as per the rest of the country, just putting on a show front of house... .and so hopefully unaffected delivery date.

Yeah, mostly because i shook on £1500 today to shift a Land Rover Discovery 2 TD5 i've been trying to shift for ages to make space for it

He got me to activate my account but not download the app. He then wanted my details to sort the tracker or something

Yeah - get the app ahead because when he links you up the car will appear in the app, probably appear before Friday. It can be a bit fiddly (the app overall, not got my Taycan yet to advise fully)and for fun, try the Porsche Charging app in the vain hope you can aggregate charging costs and make use of the Porsche "network" (aka Ionity).

I am sure other people will comment on the physcial car stuff, enjoy and just a bit jealous!

Brexit Deal Concerns

I spoke to someone within Porsche this morning and apparently the major German motor manufacturers believe there is only a 30% chance of any type of Brexit deal and only a 10% chance that it will be a good one for them.

As a group they are allegedly planning to take the 10% import duty on the chin and keep to agreed prices until end of March 2021.

I have no way of knowing whether this is true, but given the loss of revenue that cancelled orders could bring, it makes sense.
