The moral of this story is you can go far if you go slow. (I know, right?). Drove from Santa Cruz to Reno (over Donner Pass) last night for my daughter's basketball tournament. Started at 100%, made it to Reno with 17% SOC..

Weather was ideal (about room temperature), but these were not "Porsche driving" conditions. Holiday weekend traffic, think 7 mph on Hwy 680. :puke:

Still, good to know it's possible. The things I do for science...

2025 is very impressive. I cannot make it in my j1.1 GTS ST to Truckee, 200 miles (my car tells me I cannot make it). Never tried to push it.

I put my destination into the Taycan nav and the guess-o-meter was right on at a predicted 17% SOC on arrival. That and the ~50 mile range buffer gave me the confidence to keep passing chargers on the way up.

Which car do you have face lift or pre facelift and what battery?

The 2025 is definitely a roadtrip monster - was able to drive it down to LA from the peninsula and only did a single 12min stop on the way while driving 80mph+. My Rivian or former Tesla would require 2 stops (maybe 3) and take forever to charge (40min of charging on the trip for sure).

What consumption did it give you at which average speed ?
Consumption through Sacramento was 3.8 mi/kwh, but it dropped to around 3.0 by the time I got over the pass to Truckee. I don’t remember average speed but it was pretty slow.
