With my second hand purchase of a 2022 Cross Turismo 4S being only a week old, I am keen to try out the functionality available.

I have tried to use the launch control, (not easy finding the right circumstances to use it so not often.)

I am putting the car into Sport, (I don't have Sport Chrono so no Sport Plus,) pushing down the brake once stationery and then flooring the accelerator.

Unlike on the YouTube videos I have seen, I am not getting a message on the dash telling me that launch control is activated. Should I? Am I doing something wrong?

Sport mode -> left foot brake -> right foot accelerator to floor

at this point you’ll get a ‘Launch control activated’ message on dash

Left foot off break to launch - or right foot off accelerator to cancel.

If I remember correctly, doesn't the battery need to be sufficiently warmed for Launch Control?
Yes, the manual includes "vehicle at operating temperature".

We should always remember the other instructions for safety: straight road ahead, no cross traffic risks, good road conditions, steering wheel positioned straight ahead. Launch Control can get you into a lot of trouble (even more so in a Turbo of course).

Instructions are in the manual (in the app) under "Starting and driving the vehicle".

Yes, you're doing it wrong. Pony up $2k (GBP), and you'll never have to press on the brake, just pedal to the metal.

If that is the case, how do I utilise the 571 bhp that Porsche says my car has?

Good question. Sincerely I did not know that info either. Been on an Porsche event last week, to try all Porsches on a race track, one of the instructors told me so. And as I "luckily" have Sport Chrono, I did not investigated further...

Get my tune and you can utilize the 730 bhp that it does not have currently.
And while you're at it, let's tune the Cupra Born as well ;)

I haven't actually checked how LC works without sport chrono package, but normally you always get the indication on the dash. There are a ton of pre-conditions in the race start module though, battery temperature and state of charge just being one of them.

I don't have the sport chrono package, but LC works fine when in "sport" ... I get the message on the screen.
When the battery is low (like <15-20% or something) it may not work as at that point I can feel a big difference in power.
Only done a LC 2 or 3 times, it makes me feel lightheaded afterwards.

As I am aware you might need Sport Chrono to have Launch Control.
That is not the case for the Taycan. Launch Control is available on all Taycans without Sports Chrono in Sport mode.

The only time Launch Control did not initiate for me is when the SoC is low, such as in a 40% or less range, which is to say that the Launch Control message does not appear when you engage it.

Looked up the conditions in ASG out of interest:
* Steering straight
* Hard on the brake (there's a minimum brake pressure, which is pretty high)
* Throttle >99%
* Car stationary
* Gearbox oil temperature between 10C and 100C
* Gearbox clutch temperature between 8C and 200C

And then you also have the release conditions in the BMS, which is battery temperature and state of charge.
